Yeah, we have been talking about it in another thread for about a week now. Probably best to have a dedicated thread now.

If he comes, and we also get a more creative midfielder that's great but I will be pretty pissed if this is the big move in the middle. Watson and Doyle both said they are looking for and AM type player and a speedy forward.

If they do not get these type of players, they either lied or failed. I'm all for giving things a chance but after 5 years under Yallop ball we really need a change and more defense is not our greatest need.

I'm giving it till the end of the month, but at that point I will be emailing Kaval, it is important to inform the powers that be of the high standards we hold for the team.

There's only so many times one can complain before you look ungrateful and people block you out.

I've wanted a coaching change for a long time and we finally got one. While I would've preferred new blood (maybe international or more flair) I'm going to be cautiously optimistic until all the pieces are in place.

Thanks for your input. Most of us agree that he is a good player, its just what our club lacked last season was a Central ATTACKING Midfielder. But im not going to complain about bringing in a league1 captain to our club. Cheers!

    Central attacking midfielder??

Taken from MLS article, "In 67 appearances (53 starts) over the past two-and-a-half seasons, Pierazzi hasn’t recorded an assist or goal ".

    Sounds like Baca 2.0

This is the Bing translation from the post in french . Sounds great, I'm just still hoping we bring someone to create in the middle. I heard there was a Brazilian we were looking at but that was supposedly a forward.

I am very familiar with JB PIERAZZI because I am supporter of AC Ajaccio since 1997 and I met JB in 2007. I saw him play many times, and I can tell you that it is a very good defensive midfielder and that also has a unique mindset: A Ajaccio, people say that this is a warrior, and it has a motto that is "don't never let go"!

JB is part of the team-type of AC Ajaccio of the past 20 years (election made by Corsican sports journalists). He is also part of the SELECTION CORSE and played all matches of its selection since it is professional (SELECTION Corsica combines all the best players Corsicans in activity). This season 2013 / 2014, JB was elected by the fans as well as journalists and members of the best club player field of the ajaccian team in the month of August.

JB has been one of the main players of the rise of the ACA in Ligue 1 in 2011, with 33 games played / 38. Similarly, he has contributed enormously to the L1 continued the following year, with 34 games played / 38. During these two seasons, have found that the findings of the team were much better when JB was the holder (the LFP statistics approve). Last season, JB played less, and the club nearly down L2, while the recruited players think that the ACA would play at least the mid-table.

I don't think he was intended to be. My guess is that if they plan on playing a CAM in a 4-4-2 they feel they need a better defensive stopper than what Cronin provides. Our CAM signing just hasn't happened yet.

Cronin does have alot of trade value, but i cant see Doyle benching or getting rid of him.. But we'll just have to see come March what formation they want to use. Should be interesting

Don't know about Wat, but Doyle likes slow white guys. I don't see them trading Cronin.

If ever, and I have no confidence in our front office signing a true game changing CAM.

    I'll paste this one, Soccerbone:

    Kalliste says
"JB Pierazzi is not an attacking midfielder , he is a very good defensive midfielder with a great state of mind, you will not be disappointed! That makes 16 years that I support the ACA , and JB is the best midfielder I've seen in this team.
JB is someone who always gives back to the club for which he plays. He played eight years in the ACA , each year he had offers from other clubs, and from his 2nd season first English LEAGUE clubs have requested, but he always wanted to stay in Ajaccio, to help her hometown to mount LEAGUE 1 (Objective successful) and to help to maintain . Now he answers "yes" to the offer of San Jose Earthkaques because the U.S. has always been a dream for him , he loves your country, and besides, he often came to the USA on holiday this summer. You can be sure he will give everything for your club , and indeed it has long told his teammates he dreamed ACA to come and play in MLS .

Here is a picture of JB this season, during the match AC Ajaccio - Saint Etienne"

I think that the DCM position is one in which we are more than adequately served by the incumbent. I tend to doubt that anybody we could bring in to replace Cronin would do much, if anything, to markedly improve the team. Cronin is an iron-man and has been one of our most reliable players over the past several years, so I take this with a huge grain of salt...

I beg to differ. Cronin needed another player (Baca) to back him up on defense in the midfield and even then we sucked the first half of last season. Cronin is okay, but he is nothing special, and if we are going to play something other than a flat 4-4-2 we more than likely need an upgrade. And even if we keep playing a 4-4-2, we need a replacement for Baca.
