I laughed when I saw this pic and commented on how "awkward" that pic looks. Because it made me laugh is why I repped it .

On a side-note: Kicker rated Philipp Lahm's performances in central midfield during the 1st half of the season as 'world class'. The only central midfielder to receive this praise.

Well I'm not the one who gives THAT much about the positioning in detail, but they always get the directions right. Unsurprisingly for me their list is in support of my general assessment. Philipp Lahm was brilliant in-front of the back-four even if some people here on Bigsoccer think differently.

As much as I appreciated lahm in the 6 role. It can't be at the expense of basti/Martinez AND rafhina as RB over lahm..

To me one good does not mask 3 bads..

I hope pep goes back to what was originally thought on restart.

    That's all fine with me.

However I have big issues with the claims that Lahm was regularly 'physically overpowered', 'ineffective offensively' and 'out of position on the defensive end'.

I have just never seen those situations in our games and it felt more like politics than actual fair assessments of what was happening on the pitch.

But I guess once Schweinsteiger returns he'll deliver those tons of vertical passes towards the CF, fill those imaginary gaps and whatever else is supposedly wrong with Lahm in defensive midfield.

To each his own, I think Lahm did an outstanding job on the #6.

Agree with most of it, but not with "better than Casillas", not yet, on par with Casillas i guess, but wont take too long prolly.

On par with Casillas would mean benched by an above average competitor then?

Are you calling Lopez average? Pretty sure you haven't watched much of him then... he was absolutely fantastic last year, definitely top10 in the world + the fact that he was benched by Mourinho doesn't insist Lopez is better, i kinda think there's more behind that. Also, this year CL games Casillas has participated in, he has been absolutely amazing, you can check Madrid's games if you like.

wow, yeah, had no doubt there are some fans like this, so i can't just have my own opinion? I haven't said nothing about THIS season, i am talking overall. I just don't get Boateng hype, i think he has huge mistake factor and that's it.

    This is a joke right?
LOL. My thoughts exactly. Neuer's performance this year easily makes him one of the top 3 in the world. As a total package no one comes close to what he offers.
