http://canchallena.lanacion.com.ar/...en-el-sorteo-del-mundial-brasil-2014#v_video_ video is in spanish, but obvious to understand anyway.
Translation please? But yeah. Of course, did anybody think that the winner of the NZ/Mex playoff was not gonna be in Brazil's group? Of course the draw is rigged.
It basically says that the dude opened the ball for everyone to see, but then lowered his hands when actually unrolling it, so he could have been reaching for a different paper when he put his hands out of sight. The girl did everything out in the open because the placement within the groups isn't as important.
i don't understand why they didn't use a pingpong ball lottery style machine to avoid the mere appearance of impropriety.
Article Translation Rest assured: the Argentina is in Group F "., A senior source said FIFA canchallena.com two journalists in various fields Finally, the team Alejandro Sabella, by" chance ", was seeded that group. Brazil's 2014 World Cup draw sparked controversy and a video, which viralizó by social networks, attempts to explain how the alleged fraud was made. The Argentina delegation led by Sabella, had a striking reaction once our selected group became known. Juan Carlos Crespi, Boca leader, made a gesture to "the boss".
I HATE this kind of comment. Hate it with a burning passion. Why bother discussing ANYTHING? It's not like anything we do here apart from various fan groups organizing for games actually has an effect on the game. We do it because we can. Because it interests us. Because it's our passion. I really don't want to overdo this comment, but I really hate when people ask this question as if everything else we discuss on this site has an effect on the real world in some way, shape, or form.
Because quite likely, there is impropriety. I noticed how the cameras were setup to show no overhead shots and how the guy put his hands upon the podium when opening balls, out of the sight of the cameras. It's a total farce.
FIFA is an incredibly scummy organization and it would be kind of cool if someone like Messi or Ronaldo just said, "Nah, f*** it, I think I'll stay home for this WC." The problem is that FIFA is just too big and powerful. There are no checks on them. They just do whatever they want.
And I should add that while I have no idea if the draw was rigged, it's pretty clear to me that these goons took bribes when voting on the 2018 and 2022 locations. Who the eff in their right minds would want the WC in Qatar? 2018 and 2022 were bought by oil money and it's kind of a shame for the rest of the world.
I love this video. The claim is laughable, but the video is getting some mileage. There was also a twitter account (maybe associated with the same group?) that claimed to have the groups ahead of time. It posted that Italy would be the Euro team moved to pot 2 and it posted Argentina's group, both tweets are dated Dec 5 but allegedly they were doctored or hacked and were actually posted after the draw. But hey, if you like conspiracy theories, enjoy.
Continuously opening the balls out of the view of the cameras was LOL - I get the same way; especially in political forums.
like the Slate article suggested. All anyone would have to do is create dozens of twitter accounts with all the different possibilities and then once the draw was made delete all the twitter accounts that were wrong and only keep the one with the correct draw.
Well, for one thing I think it's ludicrous to discuss any USMNT formation outside of 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 with Jurgen as our manager 6 months from the World Cup.
Was the draw fixed? Of course it was. It started when Brazil was awarded the World Cup to begin with. If there was ever a team that didn't need an automatic entry and home field advantage, and if there was ever a country that couldn't genuinely afford the cost of hosting a World Cup, it's Brazil.
They still probably won't have it done in time. Their infrastructure is appalling in many parts of the country and transportation to and from stadiums will be a nightmare scenario. Oh yeah and 6 of the stadiums won't be finished. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...rld-Cup-stadiums-construction-ready-time.html Lets not forget the tear gas riots that will, at some point during the tournament, float into a stadium. Confed Cup was only a taste of what is to come. The way the media hid those riots and the reasoning behind them is also shameful.
I'm more concerned about nothing be ready for the cup. I get FIFA will live or die by Brazil, but if it comes to it they aren't going to want to lose all there money because of Brazil's awful situation. I'm curios if there is a contingency in plan to play the Cup out in another country who is already ready. I.e England, the US, Germany, Spain
