true, but I think he'll manage fine. If they do sell Baines that gives them a few dollars to pick up a good player or two. And I'm sure he has people scouting in Spain for any young talent the top teams are willing and able to loan
Didi Hamann says that Martinez told him that he was interviewed by the club but was not offered the LFC job.
No doubt, but he was not offered the job. The club talked to him, gave him an interview, but didn't take it further.
I expected that Everton would have a more fluid attack under Martinez than under Moyes (and the loans for Lukaku and Deulofeu certainly help this). What I didn't expect was their defensive solidity. Martinez's Wigan teams played an open style for a bottom-feeding team, but as a result they were done to being carved up. To be sure, Everton entered the season with better defensive personnel than Wigan had the last few years, and the loan for Barry provided another boost, but I still questioned Martinez's ability to keep the team organized defensively. Looks like I was wrong--Everton is currently tied for second for fewest goals allowed, behind only Arsenal.
I've enjoyed watching Everton play this year. And Martinez is a likeable guy. A lot of the enjoyment admittedly comes from the fact that Moyes left for Man Utd and now Everton are better and Utd are worse. Also enjoyable because we're above Everton in the table at the moment.
I really hope Moyes gets at least a few seasons to prove what he's capable of, cementing them in midtable mediocrity for the foreseeable future.
I personally like what Martinez did at Everton. He also set up a very difficult team to beat when we played them. If he ever goes to a big club I wouldn't mind having him. That being said, I personally like Rodgers so far.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/roy-keane-reopens-sir-alex-2908021 Suppose Keane has a cut of the proceeds, which is the only reason I can think of for this grand-standing back and forth "your ego is bigger than mine" crap between the two in the press?
You don't think Whiskey Dick could have left Moyes a weak team in order to make himself look like the difference maker?

Kagawa didn't play in the first 5 games and has been playing in every other for a while. Michael Carrick does nothing. Darren Fletcher is collecting money for sitting around. Antonio Valencia is playing well in the CL, but not in the league. Ashley Young is almost washed up. The Red Devils have top notch strikers but no link play. I blame Nemanja Vidic. He is the captain, after all. If you look at their defense, you have to laugh. Jonny Evans??? They have 3 clean sheets in 15 matches with a GD of 3.
