The only silver lining is opening with Ghana. They start slowly; take 3 points there and take your chances from there. We'll end with Germany; they'll be through at that point.

This is going to be a brutally tough World Cup for most teams anyway.

The only silver lining is we'll get a head start on prepping for 2018.

Shit! Not good. Ghana will be difficult enough and if we win against them then the shit hits the fan.

We can beat Ghana. We won't be playing them exhausted and running on fumes, or with guys missing due to suspension. They start slowly. Then you need 1 point from the other two games and to not get blown out by Germany. They can advance.

And what's this shit about the worst travel schedule of any team! Over 9000 miles to be flown! Great, jet lag too!

Brutal teams, most travel distance of anyone, highest temps possible. Struggling to find a silver lining here

I agree with you. I think we are due to beat Ghana tired or not, the make or break game will be the Portugal game.

    Beat Ghana.

If we can do that, I feel better about our chances.

Our players are used to traveling long distances. The long miles is the one thing that's in our favor.

This is pretty bad. Portugal and Germany are two teams that won't underestimate us.

Just beat Ghana. That's all I care about. We're not going to advance, but let's take those guys out for freaking once.

Maybe I'm wrong, but might this be somewhat of an advantage for us? I would bet that our players have more experience with long distance traveling than the other teams in our group.

Agreed completely. We'll have 6 months to game plan Ghana. If we can isolate Ronaldo and frustrate him (which we should be able to accomplish) we'll have a good shot there.

And this is going to be fun as hell to watch no matter what. If we are on the 3rd game with a shot to advance, that's all you can ask for

Can you say "meat grinder"? You can't face a stacked German team jet lagged and desperate. Agree Portugal will be the key game. A loss to Germany has to be assumed I'm afraid.

On the plus side, Portugal is sort of a one man team. If we can keep him to the side, then we stand a chance for 3pts there. And the German match......this is just a hollywood writers wet dream right?

But god I hate Ghana. Bob got his revenge on Sunil by letting them win. He did it on purpose :D

It sucks that Honduras got the group to go thru, but will in all likelyhood lay an egg. I wish any of the other 3 had gotten than draw. Concacrap is going to probably live up to the stereotype I'm afraid.

    Completely agree.

We will NOT be tired for Ghana and have six months to game plan for them.

Germany will be the third game and will already have qualified by then. They will be on autopilot.

Portugal is key ... provided we can get a ghana result.

I don't trust Germany to do anything but show up and play hard, and with honor. Portugal...yeah, I could see them mail it in.

Wouldn't be surprised to see JK revert back to the DM on the RW that he used early in his tenure vs Ronaldo.
