Now that we are in and assuming Piojo stays, it will be interesting to see how the roster shapes up, assuming no injuries what 23 man roster do you guys predict?

    1. Corona
    2. Ochoa
    3. Munoz
    4. Rafa
    5. Maza
    6. Moreno
    7. Reyes
    8. Aguilar
    9. Layun
    10. Guardado
    11. Aquino
    12. Medina
    13. Zavala
    14. Gullit
    15. Herrera
    16. Montes
    17. Fabian
    18. Gio
    19. Chicharo
    20. Oribe
    21. Jimenez
    22. Ayala
    23. Lobos

    Wild Cards
Vela(with the NT pretty much getting a clean slate after this, can he finally make a comeback?)
Chaton( If he can find his form he could be immense in that Medina role)
Salcido(A vet who can play multiple positions in Piojos system either at CDM, LWB or CB)
Reyna(If he is in form he is amongst the most talentend players Mexico has)
Mier(Injured but still a promosing CB that could provide depth)
Arce( Fits in Piojo's 3 central mid system)

    I'll take door #3.
The Germans owe us a few + facing CR7 would be cool. (Let's pretend our defenders don't suck.)

    Spain
    Mexico
    Chile
    Greece.

I think we got a shot against chile and greece...

Even though chile has the best team dynamic of all the south american teams.

I'm guessing he'll "suddenly" regain his love for his country now that everyone else did all the work for him.

    22. Davila
    23. Mier (if he recovers in time)

Every coach throws in at least one player that is controversial. For me that is Davila. Deal with it.

It's so awkward picking out a roster when Chivas aren't the foundation. Especially defenders. Honestly we don't have too many to choose from. I cringed when I put Maza but honestly beggars can't be choosers. He wouldn't be a starter but he does have 2 wc under his belt.

He eventually has to switch to a 4231, 433 or at least 343 right? Those formations suit our players best. Even 343 is better than a 352/532.

I don't know how welcome my opinion is, but from what I have seen, this is what I think Mexico's best lineup is.

    GK: Ochoa
    RCB: Reyes
    CB: Marquez
    LCB: Moreno
    RWB: Layun
    LWB: Guardado
    LCM: Pena
    RCM: Herrera
    AM: Dos Santos
    ST: Jimenez
    CF: Peralta

Reyes needs to get playing time with his club. Thats the shakiest position for Mexico right now. If Mexico has to play a three CB formation, who is the other CB that plays with Moreno and Marquez? It would be tough to start a guy in the World Cup who hasn't played all year for his club team and the other options aren't that good. The five defender formation would allow Mexico to not have to play a dedicated DM in the center of the midfield. Dos Santos deserves a more free role to play. I think he plays best as an attacking midfielder. Jimenez and Peralta seem to compliment each other well. Chicharito doesn't fit in Mexico's first eleven. He would make a good super sub.

Replace Araujo with Mier and Chavez with Marquez and the list is perfect.

Mier will be rusty coming off his injury and Araujo's having a good season.
I'd keep Chavez and Marquez off and replace them with another left wing back but I don't know who.

DF: Moreno, Reyes, Marquez, Ayala, Layun, Aguilar, Mier, Torres Nilo.
MF: Pena, Montes, H. Herrera, Enriquez, Lobos, Guardado, Reyna, Aquino.
FW: Vela, Peralta, G. Dos Santos, Hernandez.

    -------------------Ochoa----------------
    --------------Reyes---Moreno------------
    Aguilar----------------------------Layun
    --------------Enriquez---------------------
    ----------------------Pena------------------
    Reyna------------Vela-----------Guardado

If Vela can't be convinced, replace his roster spot with Jimenez and his starting spot with Dos Santos.

Rafa Marquez, Carlos Salcido, and Maza are gonna be in Brasil..... pa que nos hacemos. Might as well create your rosters around that fact.

It's gonna be hard to hide their lack of pace at this level, but at least Rafa(class and leadership) and Maza(height and experience) bring some value to the World Cup squad.

Maybe Marquez, but Maza has been in kind of a steep decline. If Herrera decides to stick with this two, I wouldn't be surprised to see them get blown up by the likes of Neymar, Eto'o and Manzukic/Olic/Eduardo.
Marquez would be more valuable coming from the bench and Maza altogether out, specially with younger and more talented players at his position like Moreno, Reyes, Mier and Ayala.

Mier is injured unfortunately and he will be a huge question mark in terms of match fitness.

I would prefer a defense of Reyes-Moreno-Ayala with Marquez being used as a D Mid.

You don't think Maza would be valuable as a late game sub defending corner kicks?

If recovered by the time, he should be ahead of Maza, if not, I'd prefer looking for a younger and in better form option than Maza, or an extra RB.
