    Portugal qualifies for Brazil 2014!

The draw for the Final Tournament will be held on December 6th 2013.

Who do you want in the group and who would you like to see in the friendly matches next year?

    Draws on December 6th.

What I'm hoping for the next 7 months?

Bruma and William Carvalho need to continue to grow, Nani needs to attend a hot young female therapist for a few months, some of the younger players like Bernardo Silva whose already on the periphery of Jesus' main squad needs to be given some time... maybe Ilori as well.

    Nelson Oliveira keep scoring.

I like it even though the Swiss beat us in '08 and Spain in '10 group stages.

That group and the opposite group for the knock out round being:
    Belgium
    Croatia
    Honduras
    Iran

The good thing is that new young guys like William, Josue, and Bruma have been making it into the squad

would also like to see Adrien get a run out

now that we are in the WC, hopefully Bento gives chances to players in friendlies before the WC.

France is in the special pot?

My God, most groups in this world cup are going to be BRUTAL.

Not many free rides this time around.

Just the way I like it, Portugal performs better when estamos a rasca.

I can't wait until the draw, it should help us narrow down the friendly opponents we'll get.

How many friendly matchdays are there?

    Porto, Portugal
    Uruguay
    USA
    Cameroon
    Portugal

    lol...Cameroon it is.

    I would go with:

    Belgium
    Iran
    Algeria

The belgians have an young talented squad but I have a feeling they'll melt once they feel the pressure.

Who cares what group we get ,
it wont be any worse than 2012 group.

my only wish is we get brazil, play them in the opening game... give Scolari a taste of his own medicine 10 years later if you catch my drift.

I personally want USA, France, Argentina.

    1- slay demons from 2002
2- slay demons from pretty much every semi final tournament loss we've ever had
3- Ronaldo slays Messi to twin second Balon D'or in a row after he wins it within this month.

For friendly matches, I want teams ranked in top 30 at least. Something our players can play hard for, unlike the usual Kazakhstan's and Azerbaijan's we get.

    I looked at the seeds

    they are srsly F*cked up...

soemthing like Germany Portugal and France together would be terrible.

anyways Ronaldo could score 100 goals, win World cup and messi would win ballon dor...

if ppl dont like you, they wont vote for you

they can shove it up their aRse, cuz Ronaldo is the best to us Portuguese (and many others) and that is what really matters.

Oh my god, that would be the perfect match up for many many reasons, I hope it happens.

I'm not sure if it was the Swedes making them look fast but Almeida and Bruno Alves looked so mobile, I think Almeida is faster than Postiga. I actually wouldn't mind him playing, he did more vs Sweden than Postiga so why not. Bruno Alves has given me more confidence in him after these performances so him, Pepe and Coentrao is fine by me. Right back is our weak spot in defence but I don't think anyone will displace Joao Pereira until after the summer. William was good too. Like everyone else I hope to see him and Bruma play in the upcoming friendlies.

Can't have three Euro teams per group, thankfully.

I wouldn't mind Colombia, stroke attack, but very vulnerable defensively..they'd play into our strengths...Switzerland will be a bit like playing Sweden, robust..no star forward, but a good midfield with Inler etc. Uruguay has that butcher laden backline and 2 world class forwards..and Belgium is solid all over the field.

The other 4 are obviously very strong....Maybe Argentina is the weakest of the three simply because their defense doesn't match the midfield/attack.

Add neto to that list. But for some reason Ricardo Costa is back in the mix. I much rather have Neto he looks very smart, calm and sure in the back line where Costa is erratic and prone to getting stupid fouls and cards.

Hopefully Eder gets a turn around and plays like he did last season. We need a faster athletic striker to either score or draw attention to allow Cristiano to do his thing.

The seeds aren't set yet for the World Cup as far as I know? Just the pot 1 seeds I thought?

As far as what I want to see in the next few months:

Like people have said, Carvalho and Bruma get playing time in friendly matches. I'd also like to see Cedric get playing time and Nelson Oliveira get a fair shot to win the starting job.

I'd also like to experiment with Josue as the #10, playing alongside or even in front of Moutinho.

I want to see this team play quality opponents in friendlies. We played Holland and Brazil to start the season, which is great….let's see more of that. Schedule Germany, Belgium, Columbia, etc.

As much as we'd all like to see Lopes and Silva get time with their first teams and develop in time, it won't happen. That'll have to wait until Euro 2016. Regardless, a guy like Tiago Ilori should be able to push Neto for the bench, Adrien should be able to push Micael out, and Anthony Lopes should be able to replace Beto.

I say Beto and not Eduardo because I feel Eduardo's presence on the team makes a difference. He's extremely prideful and passionate. A good leader to have.

The only potential change to the starting 11 from the usual that I could see next summer is Oliveira for Postiga if he plays well. Even that is unlikely though. I think ultimately Carvalho is kept on the bench until after the World Cup, and Meireles keeps his job over Josue.

With the way William and Josue are playing, Meireles is on thin ice.. i think hell make the squad but hes on his way down...

    ----Ronaldo-----Oliveira/Postiga------Josue/Nani if fit----
    ----------------Moutinho-----------
    -------------Veloso---William-------
    --Coentrao---Alves---Pepe----Pereira---
    ------------------Patricio----------------

this would be good to play on the counter, which is the style that suits CR

Did anyone else realize Oliveira is one of the top scorers in France? Maybe he isn't that overrated after all...

Edit: He's only behind Ibra, Cavani and Falcao... Uh, maybe he actually should start for the national team

He should be in the squad, Eder attributes IMO are most suited to our style of play

Eh, maybe but it's hard to argue with those stats. We'll see how he continues to do but frankly, that's pretty damn impressive from him and not what I expected.

He has quality but he's f##ked in the head, he seems so arrogant for someone who has not really achieved much. In saying that he has scored some absolute peaches this year

Not that it matters but Portugal will move to 5th in the World rankings. I think we play better when we are ranked low.
