Yeah, that's reasonable. Although I associate White Castle more with weed.

Yes, it does look rather odd to say the least.

We have something similar over here, particularly in the Nottingham area, (Robin Hood, the forest and all that), where they serve chips, (fries), with gravy but now with cheese curds, preferring 'mushy peas' instead...

I was on vacation last year in Scotland and Northern England. The former surprised me for the quality of its food, and the latter disappointed.

Edinburgh is quite a foodie city. Had some great Italian and among the best Indian while I was there.

But I don't know how the Pizza measured up.

Yep. Plus the seafood is quite good in Scotland. But only in the middle/upper class places. The working-class lads won't eat it if it's not fried. Every day for those boys is like the Iowa State Farm.

    Really?

Yeah, northern England is a lovely part of the world but culinary expertise is maybe not their forte.

But like most things, it depends where you go. They do have regional delicacies such as Yorkshire pudding, often served with onion gravy but that can also become 'Toad-in-the-hole'...

    'Lancashire Hotpot' is also nice...

    Did I mention I'm having a fasting day? :(

Haggis is underrated. I went to one place that fried up a giant haggis phallus, that was nasty. The other times I had haggis, though, it was flavorful, tasty, and it even seemed reasonably healthy.

So you went to Scotland and had Italian and Indian food and now you're enquiring about Pizza?

Presumably when you went to Italy you'll be eating Haggis and when you see India you'll be asking for black pudding.

    Yup.

Truthfully, the people I was with were terrified of haggis. One even nearly threw up when I described it. Needless to say, we didn't have any.

I can't say too much. Took TLW and my daughter touring France, Italy and Switzerland a few years ago and ate at a very expensive restaurant in Lausanne where my daughter proceeded to order Pizza. We also stopped at Chamonix prior to going through the Mont Blanc tunnel and she insisted on having a big mac

That is a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY great choice.
I'm so sick of the political shtick that he does on the Daily Show, he's (Colbert) simply better than that.
Political Satire is just tired, lazy and boring.
And the The Daily Show still sucks.

    a) Colbert is on at the same time as Letterman, Leno retired
    2) There is no way to do the Colbert Report without Stephen Colbert
    c) more importantly, I wonder what this will mean for @midnight ...

I do the same with @midnight. And often Colbert. If I also tape The Daily Show, I'll skip Colbert.

My GF can't stand him. Because he does his job too well, not because she doesn't think he's funny. She says that even though she understands it's just satire, she still wants to yell and throw things at the screen like she would if it was really the Fox idiots he makes fun of.

I hope the new Late Show is more like Ferguson and less like the Jimmies (who I don't watch), but if they wanted something more like Ferguson, they'd have just moved him up an hour :)

I know what you mean. It feels like it's been almost a decade since Colbert did anything funny on The Daily Show.
