World Cup 2014 tickets: general discussion: NOT for trading or selling

$640 dollars has just been debited from my CC balance.

That is from a total of $3900 in ticket applications.

 

Hrmm...the charging seems to be happening at random between TSTs and single venue tickets

Maybe I still have a chance (Or maybe I'm clutching at straws lol)

 

What did you apply for? That ratio is almost as bad as mine! Ha

 

Pretty poor. But I am massive fan of the first come first served period. You can pretty much get anything there and in 2006 I got 22 tickets this way. I didn't have a life for 3 months. But I got the tickets

I applied for:

one group game in Fortaleza, a group and last 16 in Recife, last 16 and QF in Salvador and the final. I would have hoped to be luckier as they were all cat 1 or cat 2.

 

For those of you lucky enough to have been awarded something and are recently posting can we ask that you list what you applied for?

I applied for USA-TST7- CAT1. I am curious to see if similar request are already being filled.

My situation

• No CC charges
• Fifa Account still says "pending"
• None of my buddies that applied for similar packages have been awarded anything

Well murph, you said you only JUST got debited, right?

Plenty of people have come out and said that they have been debited for TSTs before you did...that means that FIFA is talking bs (surprise surprise) about the TSTs being done after single match tickets.

We still have hope!

 

Got 3 out of 5! most likely got the 3 games in natal and not the 2 in curitiba but will have to wait and see the results.

edit: on second thought who knows. natal were all cat 3 but the two curitiba were cat 2 that I said yes to cat 3.... so it really could be any of the 5... just the natal were less demand so more likely. technically it could just be the two cat 2 curitiba based on the price.

 

Yup I got debited within the last 45 minutes. I rang my CC company at 8am (GMT) and at that point there was nothing pending.

I have rated that as my best chance to get tickets, a ballot is sheer luck, no control whatsoever over what happens.

 

Checking twitter, there's a few people complaining that their bank declined their ticket charges.

How would they know it has been declined?????

 

Yup. You just need a bit of patience. On google chrome you can download a add-on via the extension section to refresh the page after a certain interval (you choose the time). This means you can just sit back and wait for tickets to pop-up

Any tickets in the lottery phase are a bonus.

 

Off-topic, but I was sitting about 3 sections to your right at that match in Gdansk. We scalped tickets a couple hours before the match and ended up sitting with the families of the Spanish players.

 

Since this was my concern as well I called my bank to ask of any pending/rejected transactions ( of which there were none) and asked that any large transactions not be rejected should they occur in the next month.

 

Out of the guys that had significant success particularly in Rio/SP and knockouts...did you all just have one application for the lot of you, or did your guests apply for you too?

We four all applied for each other. However we switched round our passport numbers of our guests between applications so the system was less likely to pick up the duplicate applications as that would be the only unique identifier.

I think i have only got Salvador out of my two cards (registered at different addresses) though many were in red when I applied. I don't know what my mates have got yet, but worry the system might have picked up the same combination of names applying x 4 and chucked us out of some games.

 

Chase declined the request for my tickets, due to fraud protection. My mistake for not alerting Chase that a possible charge was coming. I just notified Chase and they re-activated my card. Hopefully FIFA will try again.

 

Call your credit card and speak to a CSR, they can tell you where the pending transaction is from just to be sure.

 

ANyone heard of people getting Final tickets yet? Just wondering if there is still hope. ;-)

 

I applied for about $2,500 worth of tickets (7 games in 4 different cities) and had a charge of AUD$ 749 (USD$700) on my card today. I'm guessing it's two games in either Curitiba, Bella Horizonte or Rio, with the cat 1 tix being USD$350 for two.... Exciting, hope you guys can get some charges through soon too.

 

Can someone who has done the first come first serve before explain it to me a little better? Over the period of time it lasts do they release a random game throughout the day and the first to buy gets it? Or are they all released at once on Nov 5th and it's a free for all?

If it's first come first served, you would think that they would release all the tickets right away, and they will go on sale while stocks last. This is what it says in the FIFA guide:

During each of the First Come First Served periods,
all valid Ticket applications are processed
according to the order in which they are received,
and subject to availability. Once theTicket
application has been processed, applicants will
receive an e-mail confirming the successful
purchase. Boleto customers will be sent additional
information relating to the Boleto payment process
once the Tickets have been allocated. Boletos are
normally issued the day after a successful Ticket
transaction. Available Tickets within the First Come
First Served periods are normally those Tickets that
remain unsold from initial sales phases, or Tickets
that have been released for redistribution by other
Customer Groups.

Hrmmm so it doesn't sound as though they will release extra tickets in this phase...instead they will be getting rid of excess tickets from this random phase (which isn't a lot by the sounds of it)....maybe im just being negative

 

I also sent an message via the form to FIFA letting them know to try again. I'm so mad at myself for not letting Chase know that this was coming.

I received this message this morning from my card. Called the number and authorized the transaction. Surprised Chase would flat out deny it without giving you a chance to respond.

 

I also called FIFA in Zurich and spoke to an operator. She told me that the billing system is an automated process and that it will submit the request twice. She did not know how long it would be before they try again. Fingers crossed...

EDIT: Yes, an outright denial of the charge, versus a request for authorization.

 

I can finally breathe!!! $720 charge at 4am here in Arizona. 8 cat 4 tickets to 2 matches! I'm guessing Recife which were low demand, but maybe Rio or Sao! I put in for 7 matches including the final, and will certainly have a go at the fcfs based around whatever tickets I have been awarded. Phhhewwwwww.....

 

My UK debit card flat hasn't had any charges from FIFA. This is despite ordering:
4 x cat 2 Rio tickets for 15/6
4 x cat 1 rio tickets for 18/6
2 x cat 2 tickets for 1B v 2A Fortaleza
4 x cat 2 tickets for match 57 QF Fortaleza
1 x cat 2 ticket for SF in Sao Paulo
2 x cat 2 tickets for final

Granted I know a lot of these were high demand but still, my friends all applied with me so maybe FIFA chucked out all our applications?
