Mind provide the exact link? While still checking on the past records, 3 Blowout Combs (so far, unless Seattle-Portland serves up 1 more) in the same weekend may well be a new record...
Thanks much for the info. In this case, 3 Combs in 1 Weekend should indeed be a new record. So far, the closest match was in 2010, where 3 Combs happened within the same week: NEW ENGLAND REOLUTION 0 - 4 CHIVAS USA (5/5/10) SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 4 - 0 RED BULL NEW YORK (5/8/10) SEATTLE SOUNDERS FC 0 - 4 LOS ANGELES GALAXY (5/8/10)
Houston are in fact holding the record for the "Longest Uncombed Streaks for a Team since its Inception": Houston: 7+ seasons (243 Games: 2006-04-02 to 2013-08-17) This is, in fact, much longer than the previous record holder, L.A., both in terms of the count of seasons and games: Through Sep-22, 2013, the longest on-going Comb-less Streak still belongs to Colorado: Colorado: 234 (through 2012) + 30 (games in 2013) = 264 games (2004-09-25 to 2013-09-22, almost 10 seasons!!!)
The record for the most # of Blowout Combs in a season (13, set in 2001) is now broken (14 through Oct-7) in 2013!!
Fewer games were played in 2001, thus rendering that percentage record impossible to exceed unless parity is nonexistent in MLS.
Ah, somebody is reading, good catch!! My bad... Will rectify accordingly in the next update, unless the Mods don't mind lending a hand...
I dunno, I would ascribe parity to overall records of teams, and less to individual scorelines in games. Seems to me that we could have a lot of combs dished - but low absolute CD numbers and still have parity across the league. YMMV
Another perspective of parity can be illustrated through the All-Time Table: http://aragon.ws/soccerdb/league/table_sum.php?stageId=1547 After almost 18 long seasons (through Oct-7, 2013), the points difference among the original 10 teams (sans L.A.) is still just slightly more than 100 points (CLB=796; & S.J. = 688, despite playing 2 fewer seasons), which translates to about less than 5 points per season.
DC United used to be way out in front in points, but have now dropped to fourth about to be passed by FC Dallas, with Chicago with 2 fewer seasons under their belts coming up quick.
