I really dig the sash-style stripe. I'd love to see that design: blue with the red stripes broken by a white sash.
I think that is a sentiment we can all get behind, I for sure second it. Make sure the sashes are as heterosexual as possible.
I actually have no objection to sashes. But there are good designs and weak ones. Which leads me to this question: Does anyone know where I can get a knockoff of this shirt:
I'm not in favor of Nike designs anymore. They're becoming more and more atrocious. I did like (and bought) the Centennial kit, but the sashes/slashes are awful. What's worse? The Where's Waldo home kits we have now. It's not likely we get another kit sponsor, being the homers that we are. Nike just needs to get their act together, IMO.
They're easily the best supplier in the world. We've had quality kits under them. Adidas has a few nice designs but for the most part they're atrocious, overpiped, overdesigned messes. i like the current hooped kits and would argue the centennials are the best looking kits in the world.
Puma makes the best, IMO. Adidas is to blah. Nike, well, Nike's gone off the deep end on some of their kits. Thankfully they're being dropped by Arsenal, as they've made horrid choices on away kits. The Centennial is solid, yes. The hooped, no way. Not in red and white - it's too much of a joke and I laugh at them every time I see them. Why not step up and look the part if we're going to try and play the part in World Football?
Puma are the worst of all the major suppliers. Even when they have a decent design they manage to mess it up by having easily the stupidest number fonts every single time. i promise you don't laugh at the hoops everytime you see them. I don't know what you mean when you say Nike's gone off the deep end. If you've seen any of their international kits ever, you'd realize that they have the simplest templates and simple but strong designs. None of which have "gone off the deep end" Puma's the ones that have released national kits that literally look like the players were waist high in turd water.
Nike does have some decent National kits, but there are hideous ones (USA) too. Not to mention the hideous MU, Arsenal, etc. kits. I have seen some bad Puma ones too, but not as many as Nike has thrown out there. It's all based on opinion, so I guess this is a never ending argument. Just do away with the sash and hoops and I'll be happy. The Centennial kit I have is perfect. Just make color variations (would have loved to have a red one).
