With that little pressure on the ball, my grandmother could look like Pirlo. Not saying Mixx ain't good, but that isn't the right example to prove it. BTW, I'd love to see and Mix/JJ central tandem.
Yeah, I mean, who would want Beasley at LB in an important match like A qualifier at the Azteca? (shutout draw, 0-0) Against a top tier nation like Germany? (win, 4-3) In a the final of our region's tournament? (shutout win, 1-0) Away qualifying sucks. Playing without Bradley sucks. And yet, with all that, we were a post away from tying the game 2-2 and pushing CR into the final minutes. Beasley plays in Mexico against many of these players. He enables us to push one of our consistently dangerous wide players (FJ) closer to the goal. And he has the quickness and tenacity we need in the Mexico match. He should start.
I don't agree with your stuff above this paragraph, but he should start until we have someone that can do a better job the Beaz can. Plain and simple. Unless we are putting F. Johnson there, we probably don't have anyone better.
This. Beasley while not an AMAZING option at LB, isn't Bornstein either. He has good speed still, good touch, vision, and age to make sure he doesn't over do it. We're fine back there unless Beas' degrades considerably in the next year.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have a kind of repeat of Belgium/Germany friendly results. Blown out by Belgium, followed by a win against Germany.
This is what I am hoping for...but that's a little too much change for our center midfield IMO for JK.
Mexico just hit the big red button that says PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE. That team is going to have a totally different mindset tomorrow. Meanwhile, our on field leader is on his way back to Italy. Our best striker is in England. Our best possession defender is in KC. And to top it off, we have no serviceable right back that can go 90. Our mindset is going to be very different from the prep week in Costa Rica. To me, this game hinges on two things. Who does JK put at RB to put out the dumpster fire that was Orozco, and does Jones finally pull his head out of his ass, and play big for us when it matters. If he plays well, we might do ok. If he is Jones that started the CR game, we're in trouble.
Want to see Besler's "Foul" that got him a Yellow. I hope the AR just lost his career for falling for this crap. Basically at the end of this highlight video. http://t.co/0WviFOTejO
Wow! Is tehre a way to plea for the yellow to be taken away? Cambell is SCUM after watching this. No longer rooting for this punk kid. Edit: 5:40 for those that the link isnt working:
At 5:44 - holy-moley, that was really weak. That's the kind of thing that has to get reviewed and that entire ref team has to be pulled off Brazil. Just laughable.
Good point in the ref forum, beyond blowing the call, Besler, technically should have been shown a red card for violent conduct. Ref blew this one. AR missed it. CR compounded it by giving a yellow for something that nobody saw to keep the game 'under control.'
I don't know about the entire ref team. Chiqui Dracula didn't see it, and counted on his AR to make the right call. God only knows what the AR claimed he saw, because there was nothing there except a blatant dive. Fair-play to Costa Rica, indeed!
Holy God that's abysmal. If anything that should be a card for simulation, or for Campbell kicking at Besler before he went down like his name was Italian. I'm sure CONCACAF won't rescind it because CONCACAF, but that's an embarrassment.
Oh my god, somebody clip that and lets get it viral. That's a Mexican ref suspending our center back before we play them on a straight up play acting dive. That wouldn't even happen in CAF.
I'm forced to play this. Bacon Fabian — Dempsey — Donovan Diskerud — Jones Beasley — Goodson — Gonzalez — Parkhurst
Hasn't Bedoya been playing a little RB? You could play him at RM to provide a little cover for Orozco
i hope non soccer fans in america dont see that besler foul it will do more to hurt the growth of the game in this country than anything else.
