What a difference a year makes. This kid was on the outs in the national team and now he's on top of the world. A world class performance by him today in all aspects of the game.

It's why you don't give up on youth. Maturity and improvement are rarely a straight line.

Should be a lesson to those constantly writing off other 21-23 yr olds.

Don't know about you guys, but bias aside, I think he is the best striker in CONCACAF.

His assist on EJ's goal was arguably the best play he made other than the free kick.

I hope he keeps his form and gels with Johannsonn, and they keep the 4-4-2 formation. Then with Deuce and LD, things will be solid.

Lets lock in Brooks and work on that D for next summer.

Love Jozy, but not ready to put him ahead of Chicharito or Vela just yet.

20 goals in 61 NT matches. 7 of which in the past 2months. Hot damn

That's definitely something to note. He's going BEAST mode just as EJ is regaining himself with the NT.

Tactically, JK might not be there as a coach. But it's indisputable that he has been a GENIUS motivator. Look at how Altidore AND Donovan responded to be shut out of the USMNT for a period...

Hattrick for Donovan this weekend vs Dallas
    Hattrick for Altidore vs Bosnia.

Ibrahimovic also scored a hat trick. Though it was against Norway. No one tell Mixx ;)

I'd take Jozy over chicharito in a heartbeat. Chich is still probably a better pure scorer but that's all he does. If he's not getting great service he's worthless. Jozy passes better and is better at getting himself and others involved.

We'll know in less than a year right. After the club season ends and the WC is over. Then either of the 3 can claim the title.

I think Jozy is in the top 3 with Chicharito and Vela.

Chicharito has been playing great week in and week out. Jozy is getting to that level. Vela had a great season, last year. What is scary is that Vela may become the best Concacaf player and could never play in a concacaf game again and is still a couple years from his prime.

I swear he's 23 for nearly a year :D Sunderland fans must be creaming themselves with anticipation. I'm really surprised he played as much as he did.

Most people will credit it your way, but I think it's the opposite. Klinsmann deserves more credit for his general tactical adjustments in 2013 than being a motivator.

Donovan is playing the same way he always plays. Altidore is playing the same way he's played since he made his Dutch move. The difference is that now Klinsmann is arranging the pieces in the way to get these guys (and others) to excel.

He'd have been on top of the world in 2006, had his late shot in regulation against Ghana gone in, instead of wide, and given the USA a late lead & a berth in the quarter-finals. Alas!

    How about this for perspective:

Jozy Altidore just equaled the amount of goals in one game by one PLAYER that Bosnia-Herzegovina had in all six matches by opposing TEAMS in World Cup qualifying.
