Guerron and Valencia did play together exactly 4 years ago against Argentina in Buenos aires. Valencia played defensive mid in a 4-5-1, and Guerron stayed on the right. Ecuador played brilliant that game, Valencia bossed the midfield and Guerron was a headache on the counterattack. No reason we can't play that same strategy again in June, I don't think we'll play 2 strikers in Buenos Aires.

It wasn't him who screamed racism...it was hundreds of racist Spanish fans in the stadium. The ref had to stop the game and the team was fined.

I'm glad Guerron is scoring, but hopefully he can move to a team playing against very competitive opponents and replicate these same feats. And 4 goals per game is not what I am referring to, but just consistent demonstrations of growth and maturity on the pitch. I wonder what'll happen if Paranaense gets an offer for him. Do they sell him? Or vow to keep him for a promotion battle back to the top-flight.

I just always hope that Guerron fixes his attitude, because when he does, I agree with some of the other posters, the sky is the limit. He has the raw talent, just needs the humility and some defense sprinkled in...he'd be a monster of epic proportions.

But for now, I enjoy watching the highlight reel :D

it's official that America is interested in signing Guerron for the Apertura in Mexico this coming season. Confirmed by the President.

I think it's a good move for Guerron. The Brazilian league is ten times better and his chances of moving up back to first division may be strong but the ONLY way he'll set foot back on the NT is if he goes to Mexico. Rueda won't be able to ignore Guerron if he's playing in America along side Benitez (if he remains there) and does a good job. No way in hell! It's either that or he goes to one of the top European leagues and stands out- which is less likely to occur at this point. Guerron needs to think about it, and make the damn move or he'll never be back on the NT.

Agreed, good move on all sides. America needs a winger with speed and aggressiveness, and Guerron needs to be on a team that has its games shown on TV.

It's too bad they didn't sign him after the 2008 Libertadores, I recall there was interest but Getafe paid a higher fee. I don't think America will ever forget how he absolutely RAPED their team in the semifinal.

Ask anyone in Europe who Antonio Valencia is and they'll tell you... Amazonia tank from Ecuador!!!
Ask anyone in Europe who Italo Estupiñan is and they say Who?
Ask anyone in Europe who Alex Aguinaga is and they say Who?

That is the Mexican league....I wish the very best To Guerron. at the age of 27, go out there and make all the money you can because this will probably be your last big payday.

well it's too late when your 27 and playing in second division in Brazil b/c you had no other option. I still think til this day that he had what it took to play in the Premier League. But some things aren't meant to happen. His attitude screwed things up along with that horrible experience he had in Spain.

I hope America signs him and he shines there. They made a formal offer today and now it's up to Guerron and Atl. Paranaense to make the decision. I'm personally sick of seeing all our players immigrate to the Mexican league, but this is one player I want to see in the Mexican simply b/c he needs to return to the NT.

And this is important because being famous in Europe is required to be a footballing legend.

lol his two assists came of him trying to score and not pass. He still has that lighting quick speed. Hope he keeps it up so that Rueda is forced to acknowledge him .

I think he needs to be an option for the NT. He seems to be playing in Chucho's position as a second striker, and he's the closest in terms of speed and aggressiveness to what Chucho brought to the team. It's a great counterbalance to Felipao who tends to wait for the ball to come to him.

Obviously playing in a subpar league isn't ideal for the NT, but he's getting playing time and his confidence is high so it balances out somewhat.

I've been saying this. I won't judge him based on the league he plays at as long as he's playing. Benitez was going to play in Qatar this season, either way I think he still would have been key to the NT. Guerron has been playing at a great level for 3 years now since he joined Atletico Paranaense and then now in China. And I agree, if we want someone strong who can play up front that has speed and aggressiveness, Guerron will always come to mind. I think some people may still have the impression that Guerron is just a right winger, but he's adjusted to playing up front in the last few years and scored a decent amount of goals if you ask me.

I just really want to know WHY he's not on the NT or at least why nothing is ever said about him. I can't remember if he ever had an argument w/ Rueda, but i dont think that was the case. Something must have happened in the last Qualifier behind closed doors that we just don't know about regarding Guerron's behavior w/ the team. Maybe it's linked to the problems Mendez and Guerron had w/ Vizuete. Who knows? The funny thing is none of the teammates on the NT ever mention the need to bring him back. I remember when Felipe Caicedo was away from the NT for a while, he apologized to Rueda for whatever he said and later Chucho and Noboa were interviewed a few months later at some point during the Qualifier saying that Felipe is needed in the NT, that he's a great teammate and that they wanted him to return. And once that was said, Rueda gave him another chance. Surprises me the same hasn't been done for Guerron...

About a year too late…he would have been a great option for the NT if he was in form and playing in a league closer to this side of the Earth.

I bet he's doing well, financially at least.

    http://www.spiegel.de/international...onal-players-with-high-salaries-a-895097.html

These guys probably earn more than Guerron but he probably still made good money playing in China for a while. By moving to Mexico he's still able to make money and get the exposure he deserves. I wanna see him playing as a right winger again. Antonio Valencia shouldn't really be considered our undisputed right winger. I don't think Guerron will have a problem adjusting to the Mexican league so it will be an interesting scenario once the Copa America begins.

I wouldn't be in favor of Guerron being part of the NT going forward. We have to build towards the future. We some young guys coming up that deserve a shot. You never though...he's only 29 so he maybe still has two good years left in him. It wouldn't be surprising if he gets called up at some point.
