I know that they are modest, but any idea what some of these guys are making? What's the highest salary that you know of?

A few years ago (or last year) the Railhawks owner (or President) made a comment in an interview that Carolina players were making on average between 2,700 - 3,200 Dollar per month.

Other than that I have no clue.

That's about right, probably. Plus a lot of guys will get an apartment.

Used to be your contract only ran from the start of training camp to the end of e season in most cases. There may be some guys on year-round, multiple-year deals now, but not the rank and file.

Yeah, I think I saw that Campos and a couple of others from United were signed for multi year contracts. Maybe 2 years?

Where it did not make sense to pay a guy year-round before, it now makes more sense for a quality guy to be under your control for longer terms in case you can sell or loan him somewhere.

I would imagine the vast majority of guys are on season-long deals. But some probably have better deals if they are potential assets

Watching the Cosmos-Strikers game, I was able to read that the mayority of NASL players made in between 15 and 30 K

That seems like an odd source.

IF you presumed they got paid from training camp to end of season (like 8 months, basically), that wouldn't be much. Even with (probable) housing.

That was what I also thought, some of the NASL players are pretty cheap, but that cheap ?

Back 10-12 years ago, if you could get a couple grand a month and an apartment in Division II, you were doing pretty well. I would hope inflation would have come into play by now.

That is about 1,800 to 3,500 per month if they get paid for 8 months.

the 30k number would not be bad if it were the low range.

the 30k number would be about 700k total salary (23 players)

I guess Marcos Senna must be the best paid player

Reuters reported Wednesday that Senna would join an M.L.S. club, turning down several offers from other teams in Spain's La Liga. But no. He's going to the Cosmos, and reportedly for a salary equivalent to what M.L.S. pays its designated players, the off-the-books stars like Thierry Henry and Robbie Keane.

Keane was signed for $5 million and makes ~$4 million a year. If Cosmos are paying any where near that for Senna they are clinically insane.

If it's strictly "what MLS pays its designated players," it's more reasonable. MLS isn't paying $4M a year for Keane, the Galaxy is/are. The actual MLS, LLC cost is $400,000 (I believe). Which is around what we were led to believe Senna signed for.

385K is the max salary I believe.

Maybe Senna wanted to go to only New York and no other city, maybe the cosmos offer was the better one.

    Who knows.

385k a year in NYC is a good to average salary in that city. W/O housing he will be just squeaking by.

I saw that info scrolling on the bottom of the screen, "NASL fast facts", and it listed the 30 man roster limit as well although most teams I think have around 25 players(Atlanta has 29). I figured the info was probably from the league but who knows.

I would guess the salary budjets (except Cosmos) range from 500k to 800k for this season for most teams. Campos and Barbara were rumoured to be at 90K each per year this year.

The average New Yorker earns less than $50,000 a year. $385,000 a year would easily put Senna in the top 5% of NYC income earners, and probably in the top 2% or 3%.

$385,000 a year is not a "good to average" salary, even in New York; it's a great salary, and more than most New Yorkers earn in ten years.

What about FOs and coaches? Any info on what NASL pays pays beyond the players? I'm curious how their salaries compare against MLS FO/coaches/staff.
