but they might not get promoted... the question is, is it worth possibly playing in the Championship for a season or two rather than staying in the OFB? Yeah, probably...

Easily better and it fits his style/game also. It would be a clear step up, and probably wouldn't be a bridge to far. Hope it happens.

Would be a step up and perhaps challenge for promotion.

I write on the Watford Forum regularly and I can tell you this poster is a good guy and it's just an English sense of humour thing. Boyd is highly rated and it was a joke not a serious comment. American's play soccer, Europe plays football, this was the joke being made.

For what it's worth, I can vouch no offence was being made and Watford fans would be delighted if Terrence Boyd signed for the club.

Yeah, a true Watford fan is going to have a place in his heart for Yanks because Demerit scored the first goal in their win at Wembley which got them promoted a few years back.

This is correct. Jay was a legend and is still followed by the club. "Jay, Jay USA" was a regular chant from the stands. He was/is very highly regarded still.

Watford. Been there once. vs. Millwall. Elton John's club I believe.
Seems like a good step up for TeBoyd.
But I'd rather see him move to AZ Alkmaar. Too bad they don't have him on their radar.

I hate to say it, but skill wise he isn't dutch material for what they have to pay him.

The Cship would be a very good fit IMO.

Agreed. Boyd is much more of the bruiser type of forward, whereas Jozy plays a much more sophisticated style. Terrance is more McBride than Altidore.

Harkes loves to bang other people's wives more than his own.

This would be a good move for him and if they can manage to make it into the premier league even better.

what's the striker situation like at Watford? How much would Vienna value him? A million euros? 2?

The transfer fee might be an issue, I agree.
But I don't know what TeBoyd's making but it seems unlikely he would be too expensive for the richer Dutch league. Skill wise I think he'd be an excellent fit for Verbeek/AZ.

Relax, if it said he was a German footballer, he would have been singing the praises of this new 'kraut.'

I can't imagine that Boyd would cost more than Johansson and I believe AZ got him on the cheap. Like a million or 2 euros.

i don't know. The dutch value technical skill and touch first and foremost from what I have seen. It's why Ajax passed on Davies. Boyd looks more like a Davies type to me. His touch can be down right 90's MLSish.

He is strong, fast and the timing of his runs is very good...his main attribute IMO.

I'd love to see him get a dutch offer, just don't think he is the type of player the value...are looking for.

Fit is everything for me, and the Cship seems like a so,id match for TB's skillset.
