http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1...eattle-sounders-tottenham-sources-say?cc=5901 Wow. Must be nice.
One year ago, he wanted out of Fulham (AND got his wish) in order to play Champions League football. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Could care less about Dempsey. Would worry more if it was a youngster like Gatt or Corona. It will just make Shittle that much "better" when we beat them again next year.
I am always amused by those who feel they can unilaterally "end" a discussion. At least it wasn't the overused "enough said" in this case. Regardless, NBC has apparently confirmed the deal, which will be officially announced tomorrow, August 3.
Some of you are off your game, no one has brought up the, "why isn't Dempsey coming to us, we're Tottenham's partners" that we had to hear with the Keane signing by LA.
I' I'm sure Tottenham feels really really bad about possibly hurting their partner's feelings and that's good enough for me!
If any of you guys can get every single person in Buck Shaw on a game day to pony up 4 grand a piece to sign a player at this price tag, I will care about your whining over this.
******** the Brits. Come on home Clint and bring a rain coat. The real reason he's coming home now is because he didn't want to miss the chance to play at The Shaw.
hahaha, that was funny but you're still wrong. Forgot NBC. Dempsey is no way going anywhere near this league. Like a guy who was on the verge of signing for Arsenal,Liverpool & signed for Spurs only 7 months ago who is in the peak of he's carrer is going to come to MLS. Maybe when he's like 33, typical MLS retirment league style.
Based on his form last year and Spurs' signings so far this summer, Deuce would have a tough time getting regular playing time, even if Bale leaves. And from Klinsmann's squad selection so far, it appears he's been favoring/advising players to get regular playing time rather than benchwarming in Europe. Hence why Goodson signed with the Quakes, EJ with the Sounders, etc.
I'm sure Jurgen consulted Clint in this move. He may be a bench warmer or part timer in England with the Spurs unless he moves again to another club which may or may not be better. At 30 years of age, I doubt any player will get better and in a WC year with national team qualifiers and exhibitions in the lead up, this move to MLS is actually pretty smart. He will play the rest of this season in Seattle and March and April next year , then will go to the WC in May. Pretty good way to make 8 million for 5 months of playing time.
Once again the vague witchery that is MLS player acquisition policy is on full display. Congratulations to the Sounders for having reached Galaxy-level "make-up-the-rules-as-you-go" status. Allocation? We don't know from allocation? And word is that Kinsy is NOT too thrilled with his newly named captain and team leader returning to MLS with several good years of top level football in him.
