Crimen y Castigo posted the obviously best thread title, so here it is.

Did they announce what number he will be? If Ji Dong-Won stays around, # 17 will not be vacant. My guess is he will sport # 12, as it appears its not in use (I like the idea of # 71 though).

Apparently there is news of Giaccherini signing soon, which would be a huge get for Sunderland and therefore Jozy.

Looks like Sunderland is being very ambitious this window, which is great news

Holy Hell.... this looks like it might actually be happening.
    That would be amazing.

Giaccherini is no world beater, but he started almost every match for Italy in the Confed Cup, including the full 120 minutes against Spain. He's small but I think his work rate could suit the pace of the EPL very, very well.

Folks may remember him for the unorthodox flick-on that set up Super Mario's monster goal against Mexico in the Confed; and then Mario returned the favor with his own (astonishing) mid-air backheel to set up Giaccherini for Italy's first against Brazil.

Over. 12 league goals. How many assists? I'm going with 5

Jozy wasted no time scoring his first goal in a Sunderland kit with a goal and an assist in 45 minutes during a friendly win today. From SAFC's website:

Might be worth mentioning the game was against a "local select squad," and Sunderland won 13-1.

Yeah - Sassegnon scored 5 goals against the pub team in 20 minutes on the field...

mmm the manager can always switch up numbers and i'm sure Ji wouldn't mind giving Jozy his favorite number

An Italian pub team might be quite talented. But glad to see he scored. This is a good sign. Goes to Sunderland and becomes a scoring phenom. How many might he score against Hull

There was also a vastly underrated Josie and the Pussycats movie in the 2000s.

Don't see how Johnson, Giaccherini, and Sessegnon can all fit. Sunderland fans seem to think Sessegnon could leave.

Sessegnon leaves that would be a big blow. I believe he is the best player on the team.

If Jozy has to be right around 15 anything less and i'll be a little worried about fans getting on him since its looking like he's the marquee signing.

Not trying to be adversarial, but why should folks care about fans "getting on him"? There were fans "getting on him" when he was with AZ too. It's such a random tangent that people here bandy about at times.

    Maybe I'm oblivious.

I'm talking about building pressure to perform. If you dont think it plays on players, then idk I guess we can agree to disagree.

Fletcher had 11 league goals last season and he was a success. If Jozy reaches that than should hold the same. But I'd say any mid-table or lower striker who scores at a goal every 3 games is good. It can be expected that such strikers wouldn't have the best service in the league. So if for example, Jozy played 25 games and scored 8 goals, then I'd wager he did pretty well.
