Okay seriously? Take a chill pill. Robbie has played something like 25 minutes. He had nothing to do with the loss today and in fact took two great shots.
Josh Guesman @jguesman16mThe script for the #LAGalaxy Losses: Pretty much dominate the 1st half but don’t score. 2nd Half over press and give the game away.
Won't happen. He isn't anywhere near getting citizenship last I heard. Uruguay also has been keeping tabs on him.
Look gang, that was a beat down, no two ways about it, but let’s not get silly. It was a dreadful second half, some dreadful individual performances and a dreadful game plan by Bruce, but not an indication of a dreadful team. Carlo is done. I thought he’d come good by now, but even on non-goal scoring plays he looked terrible. Looks like it’s time to give the Perk-olator a shot. Never said it was, but I’m also not going to take a second-half ass kicking as portents of “a[n] implosion of epic proportions” I have some tapes from 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 to show you.
No smart mouth I'm a MN Twins fan, a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and even in defeat I am a Galaxy fan. And as a fan I know for a fact that we will bounce back from this and get stronger. It's what we do. It's what we always do. That's why fans of teams like San Jose, Seattle and Houston love to stroll on into these boards and dish out backhanded support to us as if we don't already know what kind of team we root for. Sigh,...Houston fans I swear.
And the entire state of California comes up a major loser this weekend. We're home to the biggest losers in all of Major League Futbol.
Good God. That was bad. That was very bad. That was actually ridiculous. I am going to forget about this game as soon as possible. That may take awhile. I'm done talking about the Magee/Rogers trade. Magee would have helped today, but I'm not sure he could have turned around that level of incompetence on display by the Galaxy. Maybe if we had put him in goal. I'm also done with Cudicini. Done. Get Josh back. There is no reason for him to be sitting on RSL's bench. He could do better than Cudicini if he was playing stoned. He could hardly do worse. Or kidnap Dan Kennedy. Someone needs to save him for whatever the hell is going on at Chivas these days and someone sure as hell needs to save the Galaxy from whatever the hell happens to this team without Omar and Keane.
That went well. In league play, Carlo has given up 15 goals and saved 19 shots. That's bad, right? Fagundez is kind of nice. We currently have NOTHING going forward when Robbie is out. Won't until the young guys progress from "show flashes of being real good" to "MLS goal scorer." It took Jack Mac what, 3 years to happen? Just going to have to be patient.
Adam Serrano @LAGalaxyInsider 9m"We don't have talk about the game...we just have to issue apologies to our fans, to the club & personally to my teammates."- Carlo Cudicini Adam Serrano @LAGalaxyInsider 35mNE loss ties worst margin of defeat for the @LAGalaxy (MetroStars '02) & is the 2nd time under Arena that LA has allowed 5+ (6-3 v. FCD '09)
The Los Angeles Galaxy owes all of Major League Soccer an apology for playing like a bunch of spoiled, young teenage bratpunks who feel that the world is entitled to their every wish. I'll look at this on the bright side: when it comes to finding creative ways to lose and not get ahead in life, this was, without a doubt, our best [sic] performance yet.
Josh Guesman @jguesman 1hThat being said, This game was over after the #LAGalaxy failed to score in the 1st half. This team doesn’t know how to win without it. Think this is an astute statement.
This 100%. After the NY game that was one thing, but trying to pin every goal in a 5-0 loss to the goalie is laughable. This team has no leadership! Donovan must be traded post-haste! This team cannot afford to have a DP that is barely motivated to play and seeing the USA win today without him made me think that his best days are past. We should be talking about two getting two DPs.
Perhaps success is getting to the team's head right now? Of course we'd like to think the Galaxy are the cream of MLS (and perhaps we are), but even if this is true we aren't so far ahead of everyone else as Man U, Barcelona and Bayern are in their respective leagues. I think the team's overall style of play has been shifting away from the traditional Bruce Arena style of "bunkering" and counter-attacking over the years, which in the long run is probably a good thing and definitely makes for more attractive soccer. On the other hand, it's definitely riskier to keep doing what we're doing now on the road, especially with key starters missing. Do you guys suppose that Bruce cares less about the Supporter's Shield and would prefer refining a certain style of play (as opposed to grinding out ties or 1-0 victories on the road)?
