This will be taking place in May and will essentially be the U16 national team, future U20s. It was mentioned briefly in the U17 thread, but what US Soccer called the 'U17 camp' for '97s is really more of a U16 camp. These were the call-ups from the camp a few weeks ago. The most well known is probably Cam Lindley. Not sure if the five '97s from the U17 team that just got knocked out will participate.

    U.S. U-16 '97 MNT Roster by Position:
GOALKEEPERS (2) : Austin Aviza (NE Revolution; Medway, Mass.), Justin Vom Steeg (Real So Cal; Santa Barbara, Calif.)
DEFENDERS (8): Guillermo Bermudez (San Diego Surf; San Diego, Calif.), David Chavez (Juventus Sport Club; Redwood City, Calif.), Henry Martin (NY Red Bulls; New York, N.Y.), Evan Martinez (Athletico Santa Rosa; Santa Rosa, Calif.), Pablo Pelaez (Albion SC; San Diego, Calif.) Quentin Pearson (Colorado Rapids; Longmont, Colo.), Alex Ramos (LA Galaxy; Reseda, Calif.), Sean Wilson (PDA; Bethleham, Pa.)
MIDFIELDERS (6): Said Haji (NH Classics; Manchester, N.H.), Brooks Lennon (Real Salt Lake AZ; Paradise Valley, Ariz.) Cameron Lindley (Indiana United Fire; Carmel, Ind.), Kosti Moni (Crew Wolves; Grand Rapids, Mich.), Abuchi Obinwa (Chicago Magic PSG; Gotha, Fla.), Sebastian Saucedo (Real Salt Lake AZ; Park City, Utah)
FORWARDS (8): Coy Craft (FC Dallas; Frisco, Texas), Malcolm Dixon (NY Red Bulls; Montclair, N.J.), Christian Lucatero (Houston Dynamo; Pasadena, Texas), Amirgy Pineda (Fullerton Rangers; Santa Ana, Calif.), Rigoberto Rojas (Chicago Blast; Chicago, Ill.), Jorge Ruiz (Chivas USA; Mission Hills, Calif.), Alejandro Vergera (Chivas USA; Long Beach, Calif.), DJ Villegas (Davis Legacy; Sacramento, Calif.)

#USMNT U17 defender Peter Schoff with an impressive long range shot. I think it's 9-0.

I have been saying all along, we won't learn anything unless we play Kyrgyzstan's 96s.

That was indeed the final score.
We love to see that scoreline, but that's an uncompetitive match.

I think you could start this team of US '97s against the freshman team of the high school down the street from me in Dallas............................and they wouldn't win 11-0.

Hope someone will have highlights. Granted, it IS Kyrgyzstan, but still would be nice to see how the goals looked

Same here, all I really want is to watch a US team at any level and not want to fall asleep or throw my remote at the tv after the game.

If people are interested, I know some of the players tweeted out links to watch the game on Saturday. I saw them on USA Prospects twitter.

I can say without a doubt that the team did not win today because they were bigger or more physical. They built almost exclusively out of the back (Redding is incredible on the ball) and played some phenomenal attacking football overall. Pressed high, let the opposition make mistakes, and then took advantage with quick fluid passing sequences in their attack.

Next game is Saturday at 11:00 ET against the hosts.
