From FIFA, probably starting in about 3 months, here: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/ticketing/index.html At the moment there's nothing but a FAQ.
VIP ticket sales has already started. On July 1, FIFA will announce the price of all tickets. Applications should begin in same month, I think.
VIP is "if you have to ask you probably can't afford" The rest go via lottery, not first come first serve.
I'm thinking all the matches will be close to sold-out from the first (lottery) phase. So make sure to get your bid in during that 4-6 week window.
As we have seen before the amount of tickets on sale at first showing is not enormous and others will reappear early in 2014. The Lottery is by no means the only chance you will get and those who will not watch anything less than Brazil or Argentina will be frantically selling their tickets.
I think for the last two, there have been three sales phases. There's the "blind" phase, when they shift about half the tickets. Then they have a phases after the draw where they try to shift the other half. Both of those phases are by ballot, and they then have a third phase, where tickets are on open direct sale on a first come first served basis.
Hi football fans, I’m a student of the School of Business and Economics, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. For a research seminar we are conducting a survey on the brand loyalty and brand associations of football fans in England. Anyone who is from England or currently living there, please help us with our research by filling out the survey below. It only takes around 15 minutes. We need as many English fans as possible, so every single one of you can be of huge help for us. Thank you very much in advance for participating! So i guess this is the first lottery phase. This is the first time i will apply. Is there any realistic chance of getting some tickets? How many applications was it last time in South Africa 2010?
There's a very good chance of getting tickets. you can increase you chances by... choosing games in cities people are less likely to visit (i.e. not Rio) not choosing Brazil games (they will be team A1) avoiding B1, C1, D1, E1 etc. although they aren't, people might assume they are the seeded teams not going for the cheapest tickets (you can usually opt to accept any ticket) Brazil is a long way from Europe. You won't get 80,000 England fans going over like they might for games in Europe (ditto other countries) so even if you don't follow any of the advice above, you'll still probably get some tickets. Usually you can apply for seven tickets. You are likely to get maybe 3-5 of them, and you'd still have a good chance of getting more in the next phase.
I am pretty sure that B1, C1, etc... are seeded teams. I believe last time all the seeded teams held the 1 position.
Richard I would like to think it was that easy but we just do not know how keen the locals will be when it is not Brazil and they do not know who it is playing. I still feel that the number of single tickets available is nothing like as great in the first lottery than we are led to believe. However I think in following draws it might be esaier as the take up for TSTs will be less than previously due to transport problems, distance and cost. I am aiming for 6/7 so if I got 5 I would be delighted. At this stage last time I went for 5 at any price and only got three!
No to my surprise teams as B1, C1 etc were not top seeds in SA and the draw became even more complicated because of it.
here is the draw. all the seeded teams went into position 1. unless i am missing something here http://www.fifa.com/live/competitions/worldcup/finaldraw/index.html
Ekartash, apologies you are right. I have just spent a very dull 30+ minutes looking at the draw on Youtube and the B1 C1 etc. are the seeds and it was just the rest that was impossible to work out. Having said that many of the most likely supported nations will not be seeds this time so may not be so difficult. Argentina excepting. Richard also best to go for grounds with larger capacities.
hey all, here we go again! long time veteran of World Cup travel Big Soccer forums and here is my first post for this one. Tickets for Germany were next to impossible given the high demmand. The only ticket I scored from FIFA was the "conditional" for US-Czech Republic. I got my US series for South Africa on the first phase and then additional tickets were a breeze. It all has to do with demmand. The demmand for Germany was huge while the South African one wasn't. Be sure that it'll be astronomical for Brazil.
I forgot how it worked at the last World Cup...Can you apply for two tickets to the same game? That way you are seated next to each other? For the obvious reasons, I think this would be the case, but want to make sure.
I think they make a large number available - usually about half of the general sale tickets, because otherwise there'd be a huge risk of low-demand games (once the draw is known) not selling out. I don't think there'd be any point in lying about the number of tickets available in each phase. Also it's worth remembering that travel could be problematic. Brazil is a huge country and flying is the only option between many cities, and flights will be limited and most probably pretty expensive.
