You crept up to 2,000 posts fast. Congrats. Thanks for starting this thread that will probably be seldom used (posted in) because people are too preoccupied with the Champions League and Messi's status. No fear, I am here to post pointless things like "What's going on? Are we resting Viscaelbarca for the Champions League thread?" :D

Seriously though, thanks to both of you for all your hard work with starting these awesome threads. I like that lineup, but I would rather rest Iniesta as he will be super important if Messi doesn't play during the week. In his place, I present to you....Alexis. Which means Villa plays up front. Dun dun dun....how is that for a twist?

Messi, who is recovering from a thigh injury, will be part of the match squad for the Champions League game against PSG on Wednesday. [md]

Good opportunity to give a CB start to Song or Bartra (or even Busquets) before the PSG match in which one of them has to play CB. Hopefully we don't play Messi, and hopefully we'll win. Also, I'd play Valdes and not Pinto.

Messi shouldn;t play until the next La Liga game unless we are losing against PSG which I hope we are not

The reason Pinto is starting is that Valdes still suspended, this will be the last match he misses IIRC he got that red card for dissent and then a 4 match ban as a result.

Also like Azulgrana I am so firmly in the Bartra camp (vs. Song and Busquets) as I want Marc B to start vs. PSG too and he needs reps next to Pique and just PT in general. Neither of our DMs have ever played too well at CB. Hopefully Abidal makes his debut with the first team for the last 10 minutes, would love to see Deulofeu too.

Will Messi at least be at the game watching over us?

Fair enough line-up. I'd play Pique though, as he plays against PSG and imo whoever plays with him the CB, could benefit from playing with him tonight.

i agree that they would benefit from playing alongside pique to help forge their partnership. however, we really can't afford to lose pique to injury at this point in the season, so there's also a very strong argument to not play him today.

Yeah, two ways to see it. I mean, I think the positives of playing Pique tonight outweight the risk of him getting injured, but I'd understand if someone would disagree.

Well looks like Villa and Pedro may start during the week. Montoya and Bartra? Good. They need the time, especially Bartra.

Seriously, he MAY never return to his former level of fitness, he is taking medicine to keep his body from rejecting the donated organ which seriously saps the strength of most donees. Abidal's fight to play again is a great story BUT to think that he might be our savior in the absence of Puyol and Masch is wishful thinking in my opinion.

Ouch that looked like it hurt. Seems like the plan is the same as last weekend, find Tello and let him run.

can we just please win today without Messi

if we cant beat this lowly crappy team, we will need some serious help against PSG

you mean A- as with Mesis then it becomes A+, we need to show Messi that we can help him win while he rests

It would be nice to see a good performance from Thiago today. He's been in a bit of a slump lately. Loving these quick counters
