The Shin Guardian has a great breakdown of the schedule. http://theshinguardian.com/2013/01/14/mls-2013-a-technical-evaluation-of-strength-of-schedule/
The U.S. Open Cup dates for 2013 are out. http://thecup.us/leaked-2013-us-ope...14/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter I'll add the dates to the All Fixtures list.
One of those dates indicates that there will be a CCL date the week of August 7. That is different than I guessed. We'll have to keep an eye out for other changes.
JetBlue is introducing new direct flights to Boston, I thought that would be a good way to get to an away game, just $48 each way. But there are complications. First, you have to buy them before April 2nd. The deal is only good on flights from September 3-October 9. But lucky us, we play twice in NE, once in July and once in September. However, not every date is on sale ("blackout dates" I guess, though most dates seem to be blacked out....) Turns out, if you want to fly up there and back for $100, a good deal, you have to fly up on Wednesday and come back the next Tuesday. It only works out if you don't have a job and you have friends to stay with up there. They get you coming and going, don't they? Oh, yea, you could get the deal on the day of the game too, but you don't leave Houston until about game time. Weasels.
Wasn't Stoke City supposed to come to Houston this summer? So why are they going to Dallas? http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...toke-city-face-fc-dallas-2013-summer-tour-usa Actually, it occurs to me it would be better to watch them play in Frisco. I could cheer on Geoff and Brek without having to feel guilty about it. So who's coming to Houston?
They are announcing another major team next week. Most likely us? It be nice to have Geoff and his team here. But eh
There was a different article that said the game in Frisco would be the 2nd of their tour. Looks like the first game will be in Houston probably on July 24.
That would put a lot of pressure on us to get a better result than Dallas against them. Maybe we could bet the cannon on it? I like the idea of a Texas tour, bringing the two Texans back home (not that Geoff is actually Texan, but he almost is. )
So, Stoke City is going to both Houston and Dallas. I wonder if they also planning on going to San Antonio to make it a Texas Triangle road trip.
