I like Basta but I'd imagine Piris is sacrificed and I'd rather have Piris to be honest his terrier like attitude is an asset

I like Basta too. Seems like he could be had for a pretty low price and is an experienced player.

I don't think it affects Piris' status much if AA stays or another 3 man defense manager arrives.

If we're going to be playing with a back three plus wingbacks, we need depth.

Piris has looked pretty decent to me in the back three for being new to the position, even if he made the mistake in Friuli and had trouble with Borriello's strength. We absolutely need a top notch first choice CB but a rotation of Torosidis / Basta at wingback with Piris playing there if needed but mainly rotating in the back doesn't sound bad.

Left back is a greater problem, neither Balzaretti or Marquinho are that convincing

I agree that we're weaker right now at LB since Torosidis arrived .

I'd guess we're kind of stuck with Balzaretti as one option on the left and need to just hope and pray he improves his form. The rest depends on what the hell happens with Dodo's injury concerns. I'm sure the ideal plan is still those two rotating (and cover in case of emergency from Torosidis moved to the left?).

So much depends on the manager though and whether we run a back three or four.

Marquinho could become a decent option at wingback but I don't see him as LB in a back four at all. I really like Marquinho for his versatility and the spark he often adds.

However, he may be deemed unnecessary by a new manager (as a guy who plays a lot of roles well but none great) if he won't be content with a bit more limited playing time if we add one more quality piece to the midfield.

Benoit Tremoulinas would be perfect for us. A french LB playing for Bordeaux and national team of France. He can cross like Torosidis and has 5 assists this season. His contract expires in 2014.

    you're a funny guy!

I don't think he broke the first team at Pescara. Or he's injured. I forget

He actually is now on loan at Novara

Basta is such a badass name, when opponents try to get down the flank he'll be like all "Enough! Basta!" and tackle their asses. But I prefer Piris.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather Alexos Sanchez over Jovetic...

Does it seem Alexis could be on his way out of Barca this summer? I think he'd cost around 20-25m

I think he'll go to juve, i'd say young sanchez thinks he's too good for us. It would be a blessing if he went to Juve though because that would most definitely rule out JoJo moving to Juve, then we could swoop for him :)

Not sure he would, Alexis seems like a pretty humble guy... Juve might be interested but with Vucinic, Llorente and Giovinco why would he go there when he could start for Roma?

Sanchez is more of a wide striker, and not so much a CF/treq. He needs space to run into like Lamela.
