Tough one in Ecuador, but it's about time to start winning in La Copa.

Bianchi is looking for a spark, and will make a several changes. Most notably, Ledesma and Viatri are back in the started lineup.

    Likely lineup (4-4-2)

Cheer up. Roman is practicing well and might be on the bench this weekend against Union.

We could really use a win here, its time for some of our players to show they are good enough to play for Boca

Here we go! No one can accuse Bianchi of not being pro active. At some point though, we gotta find the right mix and let them develop some chemistry. The win is a must, here. I don't care if we play badly. Just get it done.

Gol de El Burrito...after he had wasted an opportunity, which resulted in a corner. Let's hope this gives him some confidence to start playing better.

    Vamos Boca.

    1-0

Gol Boca....Claudio Perez. Now, that's more like it.

    2-0 Boca.

Usually, we're getting burned on set pieces....Good to see the fortunes reversed.

Not playing well, but can't argue with 2 goals, and hopefully, a much needed victory.

A much more relaxed Boca on the ball right now. as a result, the ball moving a bit better when they have it, and the play is ever so slightly better.

Yeah the goals have obviously brought abit of confidence back into the team.Bianchi is still finding out who he can rely on at the minute so it is important we pick up these points. We will have a jump in quality when Sanchez Mino and Roman return so still optimistic for the season ahead

The first 60 minutes or so were a bore, but the last third of the match has seen Boca play some really good football at times. Of course, this has a lot to do with Barcelona pushing to make up the difference, but I am very encouraged. Martinez looks to be coming out of his shell, and more importantly, he's been combining very well with Viatri. Silva may have a hard time coming back onto this side.
The defense has held up, mostly due to Orion controlling his box and Barcelona bailing them out by not remaining disciplined enough to stay onsides.....
and just as I speak, Clemente gives up a remarkably stupid penal...What an effing dumb bonehead move!

Well taken penal by Barcelona. If you put it on the ground, Orion would get it.

    2-1 Boca.

Barcelona get one back from the penalty spot after a very lazy challenge by Clemente.Too late to affect the result though surely

Bueno, la verdad, siguen jugando bastante como el culo, pero a esta altura hasta que aparezca el futbol, el triunfo de visitante sirve, no?

sounds like your wish was granted my man. I guess it was a deserved win since they played better than their opponent but now my eyes and soul hurt. At this point its 3 points though which I cant short sell. But jesus how bad must Futbol Ecuatoriano be if that team is representing them in the Libertadores.

It is not so much that Boca played better, but rather than Barcelona played worse. Big distinction.

Id just rather offer some positive than just enter uninvited with negativity, but you are right.

the announcers in the second half towards the end were going a little overboard trying to sell how well Boca had played. They had a a few decent attacks put together, a couple off counters and once or twice good passes strung together but I cant remember a good look at the goal that was generated off any of them. Obviously with the two goals off dead balls.

I honestly didn't see the latter part of the game as being a bad performance. They weren't being world beaters, but I really did enjoy watching the play for some of it.
