I was trying to wait but I got impatient. Who: Houston Dynamo v. DC United When: Saturday, March 2 @ 7:00 PM CST Where: BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston, TX Records Last Season: DC United (17-10-7) 58 PTS, 2nd place in EAST Houston Dynamo (14-9-11) 53 PTS, 5th in EAST TV: NBC Sports Network Radio: 1560/850/97.5 These two teams last met in the Eastern Conference final in November, 2012. Houston won the home leg, 3-1, and drew the away leg, 1-1. Last season in league play DC United was 5-9-3 on the road with a -10 g.d. Houston was 11-0-6 at home with a +19 g.d. The Dynamo have now went 25 regular season games in a row without a home loss. The MLS record is 29 regular season games set by RSL in 2009-2011. Houston has not lost at home 30 in a row if you count MLS playoffs and Champions League. RSL's overall streak at that time was 34 games. The Dynamo next have a CCL game at home on Tuesday, March 5 against Santos Laguna, and then again at Santos on March 13. DC United hosts Real Salt Lake on March 9.
DC United @ Houston, all-time: 09/30/06 HOU 1-0 DCU 07/01/07 HOU 1-0 DCU Superliga 07/08/07 HOU 1-0 DCU 10/12/08 HOU 0-0 DCU 08/01/09 HOU 4-3 DCU 05/22/10 HOU 2-0 DCU 04/29/11 HOU 4-1 DCU 05/12/12 HOU 1-0 DCU 07/15/12 HOU 4-0 DCU 11/11/12 HOU 3-1 DCU MLS Playoffs That's 9-0-1 with 21 goals scored and only 5 allowed.
i remember when the best mod we ever had use to start these to stimulate conversation. the good old days when that "other" thread would of been shut down and moved immediately. that's impressive. that has to be our best record against any team.
I recently got fired out of the blue and am returning to Houston from DC area for a couple weeks. / I can really only afford one of the games /. I'm leaning towards Santos, anyone give me a reason to go to this one instead?
I really don't get Glenn asking which game is more important. EVERY Dynamo game is important. (But that said, if I could only go to one I would go to Santos. But I wish we had more time to prepare for that game. )
What is the ticket situation for this game? I'm going to be in Houston that weekend anyway, by a stroke of fortune, and figure I may as well attend with one of my friends who lives there. Will there be tickets available if I just buy them at the gate on gameday?
Maybe but I wouldn't count on it. We sold out most of our home games last year but we don't know how that will translate this year.
could always holler at the DC board, since its opening day and televised, might be a decent amount of screaming eagles going, they might have away supporters section info.
Probably but there are other contenders. Vancouver @ HOU: 1-0-0, we won the only game so far DC United @ HOU: 9-0-1 Real Salt Lake @ HOU: 7-0-1 Seattle @ HOU: 3-0-1 Portland @ HOU: 1-0-1 Montreal @ HOU: 1-0-1 ------------------------------- Chivas USA @ HOU: 8-1-3, but that one loss was in the Open Cup. Our g.d. against them is also +16 Dallas @ HOU: 8-1-3, +11 g.d. Colorado @ HOU: 5-1-2 New York @ HOU: 4-1-3 Toronto @ HOU: 3-1-3 Columbus @ HOU: 1-1-5, g.d. +0, we only have 2 wins ever against the Crew, one home, one away Out of those 12 teams we have only lost to them 6 times total at home. We have 16 home losses to the other 6 teams in the league. We have at least one win at home against every team in the league. On the road is a different story.
I see two different forecasts for March 2 in zip code 77003: Sunny, High of 55, low of 41. Or Partly cloudy, high of 63, low of 45 Either one looks pretty good to me but I'll take that first one. Last weekend I was in Breckenridge, CO and loving it. 9F a couple of morning. Beautiful!
Well, I always forget they don't play in East Bernard but I was seeing the first forecast on WeatherUnderground. In EB it says 39. Either way I hate that, anything below 70 is freezing. But who cares? It's opening night. Besides, at the USWNT game I wasn't cold at all and it was about that temp.
This year, games like this are out of reach for me because of my job in retail. At least I got clearance for the Santos match... (and I unknowingly added a retail pun there)
This is funny, this morning WU shows a low Saturday night of 37 both in Houston and EB, but the high Saturday in EB shows 61 but just 55 in H-town. What worries my, the guy with tropical plants all over his yard, is Friday night says 32. Yuck. I want summer.
I'm with you. Only newtex, and the chumps that bought long sleeve jerseys throughout the years that they get to wear biannually, want that kind of weather.
Carlos ruiz is back in MLS? I leave the US for a few months and this place goes to... Oh, ruiz brings back a lot of memories. The Rico suspension of course is the big one. Then again, Hainault also hated Ruiz http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=ZNLTDmBgTl0&desktop_uri=/watch?v=ZNLTDmBgTl0
DeRo apparantly head butted Danny Cruz in last preseason game. Slight Chance he might be suspended for the opener. Too lazy to post link
