What history? Their only success was 40 years ago. That group of players will get them qualified for the WC & Euros, which is more than some groups throughout their history can say.
Meh they really aren't that much better, they're just raised in the league and will be given preference to a foreign player for the most part. The list I compiled really isn't world class as some may think, you just know the names because they are hyped by the British media.
We've always done ok for defenders, wingers and strikers. Midfield not so much. Too many box to box guys and not enough playmakers or DMs comfortable in possession. What little we have produced over the years have been badly utilised or just ignored; see one P. Scholes. The academies just might have cracked it with the new lot though. Wilshere, Cleverley and Ox, who is a decent CM, are already in the seniors and below that you have some promising kids on loan in the championship in Josh McEachran, Nate Chalobah, Ross Barkley and Will Hughes. Depends on the manager and his style ultimately but, things could be on the up.
Why do I get the feeling that I'm not going to be reading very much about Kyle Scott in this thread for a while?
305385784733728768 is not a valid tweet id There seems to be a contract out on any American player in the UK.
This might be a little too soon to say something like this, but this certainly takes him off England's radar for now, and makes his options pretty clear for the near future of what national team team he will represent(USA). Who really knows though? This might take him off our radar for another few years, but I don't think we have to worry about England calling him up on the youth level until he establishes that he is 100% injury free and is in good form after the injury.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm completely alright with US prospects not stepping a foot onto English soil until they start playing for the first team or something.
The Daily Mail claim he has not yet signed professional terms and is wanted by Barcelona, Real Madrid & Juventus. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...er-wanted-Juventus-Barcelona-Real-Madrid.html
If you narrow your definition of 'average World Cup' to mean 'a World Cup just like 2010', then yeah, I'd agree. Otherwise, you are completely wrong and the results show it. * One might call a goalkeeping error bad enough to get the goalie dropped from the team for two solid years a stroke of luck for the opposing team. *please, please try to call 2002 an average World Cup. I need a good laugh this morning.
He wouldn't do, would he, given he's still 15. Daily Mail has form for these types of articles involving CFC kids.
USAprospects @USAprospects17 Sep '97 #usynt Kyle Scott is again being linked with Real Madrid. http://www.defensacentral.com/la_fabrica/92695-real-madrid-en-busca-de-una-perla-inglesa-para-la-proxima-temporada-kyle-scotto-juega-en-el-chelsea/…
Catching up with this story about him allegedly rejecting a professional contract for Chelsea. Probably not the worst thing, Chelsea youth players often end up at other clubs with a few years of lost playing time. Of the 3 clubs mentioned Real Madrid, Barca and Juve he'd be better off with Juve. They have a better academy (primavera) then Chelsea and he'll get more playing time then if he went into one of the duopolies set up. Honestly I'd always prefer a highly rated American prospect to go to a top academy in Italy over England because players get more first team minutes with co-ownerships and loans. He'd probably be quickly loaned out or at the very worst someone would buy have his rights and he'd get matches.
