What are your expectations for this coming season? Last years results. 1. 37 goals for. 2. 45 goals against 3. 36 points Here are my predictions as of now. 1. 44 goals for 2. 43 goals against 3. 45 points Probably not going to be enough to make the play-offs, but i am usually wrong so looks like we are going to have a great season. Then again, having a positive goal differential makes a team almost a lock for the playoffs.
I only see us as being slightly better then last year. The best I see us finishing is 6th. 41 goals for 40 goals against 43 points
Eastern Conference predictions: 1. SKC 61 pts 2. RBNY 59 3. Houston 57 4. Chicago 56 5. Toronto Montreal 53 6. DCU 52 7. Union 45 8. Crew 44 9. Revs 41 10. Toronto 0.0
I see us struggling early in the season to score (shocker I know) but I do see the team finishing with a fair amount of goals and a decent push towards a playoff spot that will ultimately fall short. Wins will still be difficult to come by, but I think many of the losses we had last year will be converted to draws. I also see another strong run in the Open Cup. Goals For: 46 Goals Against: 38 Points: 46 which will be good for 6/7 place in the east Record: 10-8-16 USOC: Semi's
East Predictions: 1 Columbus 2 Sporting Kansas City 3 Houston 4 Philadelphia 5 NYRB 6 Chicago 7 Montreal 8 Toronto 9 DC United 10 New England I have a weird feeling DC will be bad this year. While I'm at it West Predictions: 1 San Jose 2 Seattle 3 LA Galaxy 4 Real Salt Lake 5 FC Dallas 6 Portland 7 Vancouver 8 Chivas USA 9 Colorado Very rough predictions at the moment, don't hold me responsible until I make some revisions, haha.
I am changing my predictions with DCU crapping badly this year. Carlos Ruiz to DCU is bad jujumagumbo. He is gonna wreck that team. Not that it would bother me the slightest bit. DCU will be 9th and Union will finish 6th. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=PA_c1FClBMo
7th or 8th in the East. We are going to continue to struggle to score goals, our defense will be leaky to start the season, Hack will be outcoached, and we will all be let down. Other teams have made better acquisitions than us.
I predict a final position somewhere from 7 to 9 this year, with an embarrassing USOC quarter-final crash out to a lower division side while at home. No more than 4 away wins this year. Goals against will be considerably higher than goals for. The team will set a club record for fewest goals in a season. Attendance by the middle of the season will be dismal, around the 14K mark.
I don't know about that, last year we had better attendance and I don't see how this year can be worse than last year.
My expectations for this team will be low until Sack sells his interest in the ownership and is sent packing from the front office. I don't see how this team makes the playoffs. Maybe they sneak in. But I don't see how this team is any more playoff caliber than last years.
Minimum, I think the Union will be in the hunt for a playoff spot until late in the season. If things fall out right, I could see a finish as high as 3rd or 4th in the East, and a home playoff game. I think the season will start out slowly--with this much turnover, they always do. By the time we play Toronto at home on April 13, I suspect people on this forum will be ready to riot in the streets. But from that point on, I think things will improve. Whether the Union make the playoffs or not will probably depend a lot on the kind of season Michael Farfan has.
Do I think that the team is drastically better than last year? No, but I do think we improved on the area in biggest need by acquiring Le Toux and Casey to put the ball in the net. That was the biggest weakness last season. We lost Valdes and replaced him with Parke yet also add a potentially healthy Soumare which should improve the center of the defense some. The young nucleus adds another year to their resume and now have had an off season with Hack in charge. Realistically the team should improve on last season and push for a playoff spot.
Hate to be negative as well but agree with this. Would be wonderful to be wrong and pleasantly surprised; bring it ON!
Chicken Little comes out around this time every year. If he sees his shadow, the Union will have 8 months of shitty soccer.
