"(Woefully poorly)" predicted Lineup for RSL:

Attinella; Palmer, Schuler, Watson-Siriboe, Balchan; Martinez, Grossman, Stertzer, Viana; Plata, Sandoval

For the regular season, how is RSL predicted to fare compared to the rest of the West? They lost a lot of their guys I at least considered their "core" (Espindola, Olave, Will Johnson) but they still have guys like Beckerman, Saborio, Grabavoy and Borchers. I just don't see any scoring depth on that team at all.

You're right, their main weakness is a strike partner for Saborio. It seems like they're going with a "striker-by-committee" strategy and will likely rotate between Findley, Plata, Sandoval and soon-to-be-confirmed signing Olmes Garcia based on matchups.

Tierney and Barnes are out. Barnes suffered a cut on his achilles in the match against Tucson.

Looking forward to Cisse and Caldwell in the center. Maybe Heaps IS learning!

Edit: looks like Nguyen is a withdrawn striker of sorts.

Ouch. Hopefully it's not as bad as Erik Karlsson's injury....

Shuttleworth with an absolute howler. Not starting material.

Announcers mentioned that that they saw the friendly with the PDL team but aren't allowed to say much. Anyone know/theorize why they're being secretive about it?

I have to assume they had someone in camp, but don't want his name getting out there. Possibly someone under contract for another team? Very odd.

Shuttleworth is not starting quality. Would be interesting to see Soffner get some minutes.

I actually didn't have a problem with Shuttleworth on the goal. The ball skipped off the wet, uneven turf and had a weird rebound. I'm not sure there was much anyone could do.

Just got on-line - any comments on how the Revs played in first half outside of what sounds like a Shuttleworth mistake on the goal? Plan on watching the 2nd half now

This. With the conditions, a knuckling shot like that would be difficult for most keepers to deal with.

From reading twitter (and no, I'm not watching) ... we apparently look pretty bad.

Seriously? The ball wasn't even on the turf. Shuttleworth muffed it from the air and let it squirt 5 yard away from him. That's awful, wet ball or not.

Hmm. Not quite. They have 4-5 starters in there.

Two of Viana/Velasquez/Martinez will probably start. I could see Sandoval starting as well. Beltran is a starter at RB. Palmer may also start the season at LB because I think Wingert is injured.

I'm watching, and I wouldn't say we've looked bad. Slowed by the conditions, yes, but bad? Not what I'd say.

What a run from Fagundez! If you didn't already think he needs to play in the midfield, you should now.

Yes, I know, he's lined up as a forward. But he'd find himself in those positions a lot more if Heaps played on the wing.

Just what I'm seeing from most of the tweets in the first half.

That was beautiful. Great composure from Farrell who plays a long ball right onto the foot of Fagundez down the left side. Fagundez beats his man to the endline and crosses to Dorman who can do nothing but finish it. Very nice all around.
