Fire Starting XI: Paolo Tornaghi; Jalil Anibaba, Arne Friedrich, Austin Berry, Logan Pause (C), Patrick Nyarko, Jeff Larentowicz, Joel Lindpere, Dilly Duka; Chris Rolfe, Sherjill MacDonald Substitutes: Sean Johnson, Alec Kann^; Michael Videira, Steven Kinney, Hunter Jumper, Pascal Chimbonda^, Leo Lelis^, Corben Bone, Brendan King, Daniel Paladini, Wells Thompson, Yazid Atouba*, Alex, Maicon Santos, Kellen Gulley Colin Rolfe** Looks like Klopas is prepping Tornaghi for his likely role starting at the beginning of the season. Pause at left back for Sega, who supposedly is not hurt bad, but not ready to play yet either. No surprises anywhere else
How about Johnson and Alex? Johnson should be starting along with Alex..... It would be nice that Chimbonda get some minutes with most of the starters to see what we have.... So I take we don't have a LB, to replace Segares when he's injuried or suspended and before anybody says it Pause isn't a LB, he shouldn't even be our RB.
Like I said, my guess is Tornaghi is getting a run with the first team since Johnson will likely be gone with the NT towards the beginning of the season. As for Alex, he was used as a sub for Rolfe last match, and Frank has apparently said that he thinks he can play in the second striker role. I think our LM depth will be 1. Duka 2. Atouba, which I'm ok with, based on how both have played. Alex will be the depth for Rolfe and possibly Lindpere We have Jumper who has been coming in as a sub at LB. That one is a bit of a mystery why Pause gets the nod, but maybe just trying to get a better idea of if Pause has any idea how to play fullback.
anyone else having trouble getting the stream to load? i couldn't get the Houston-Vancouver match either
that came from the Fire's left side, right? i.e. from the side that Klopas is playing Pause way out of position at edit: as I type, he gets beat again, and gets lucky that the ball runs out of play
Austin Berry goal off of a Lindpere FK. Kind of just trickles over the line. Not even sure it was intentional
The camera work seems very weird so far. It'll be following the action nicely and then start drifting aimlessly, often leaving the ball off-screen.
Duka apparently hits one off the cross bar. Wouldn't know for sure, since the camera didn't show past the six yard box
