I think I remember those now. I think my brain was trying to suppress the traumatic memory. :D

They did. I believe the only change was the addition of long-sleeve jerseys in 1997, following an early-season trip to Colorado where the entire team had to go on a shopping trip to buy long-sleeve t-shirts to wear under the jerseys.

I doubt they were offering more than what the Crew offered him. Although we will never know what that amount was. Maybe he was tired of using a translator. Most of the other Latin American players we had picked up english and used it in interviews, etc... Alas old Emilio never did, even though he was here a little over three seasons

His time here had passed. He had a good 1.5 years, but he was not starting-caliber last season. His finishing rate was abysmal and he doesn't have the touch to play ball with Higs and Jairo.

Jairo last season was a rent boy upgrade

I also liked his dances. And the shooting arrows.

My fondest memory is of that picture of the team huddle where every is very serious and Renteria is mugging for the camera. His goal celebrations were top notch, too.

Oh it was fun while it lasted. Remember his scissor-kick bomb in the CCL in one of his first games here (was it at Puerto Rico?)

    Man, I miss the CCL.

You think Singapore takes a lot of Concacaf Champions League action?

I though the story said central and south american games. Realize CCL is not exactly the prime time game but is the 3rd division in Austria?

Was it Brian Hall who called a foul at midfield AFTER the Crew player scored? This would have been circa 1999-2000.

Can anyone recall the details of this match? I remember watching it and a few choice adjectives that describe how I felt, but I can't bring back the specifics. I guess I must have corrupted that part of my hard drive, thanks a lot poor life choices.

You must think all the way back to August 2010 my son. There you will recall the game at Santos Laguna where at once this unfolded: http://www.thecrew.com/news/2010/08/recap-crew-vs-santos-laguna

Or, if you are partial to BigSoccer threads: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...a-mex-8-24-r-pre-in-post-game-thread.1519827/ it gets good around post #138

Andy Iro scored. Service provided by Emilio Renteria.

Yeah, Cunningham ran through the defense despite obvious jersey tugging. Broke into the box 1v1 with the keeper and Hall blew the whistle as Jeff shot. Ball went in, free kick to us. Hall never called another Crew match again.
