http://www.thecrew.com/news/2013/02...artnerships-papa-johns-pizza-and-white-castle So I am guessing Donato's is out. I liked their little pizzas. But the Papa is okay. Maybe White Castle can sponsor bathroom renovation because we are going to need it.
Queue a bunch of people griping about Papa John's and endorsing their favorite instead. Tommy's, btw.
I can actaully say that I've lived in eastern and central Ohio my whole life and I've never had White Castle BTW... Do their fries really only come in one size?
I'm all for White Castle. Papa Johns is a bad choice. Donatos was local at least. For all games that the Crew win by 2 goals or more: "This blowout was brought to you by White Castle! All fans receive a coupon for a free slider"
That works well, too. The Crew should hire us. The team would be horrific but the experience would be hilarious.
Papa Johns replaced Donatos at Nationwide Arena prior to last season as well... Seems they're either outbidding the local pizza, or the local pizza isn't interested any longer.
It's a Crew blowout, which means it's massive, right? Weren't we wanting fresh food at CCS and fries that weren't soggy? Anyone up for a stadium-priced slider? I'm not too optimistic about this one, but if they want to give the team the money, then that's obviously a good thing.
I wonder how much this really matters. It seems like there's a world of difference between a stadium-bought Donato's Pizza and one bought at a restaurant. I've noticed a lot more toppings on a pepperoni pizza at a restaurant vs a stadium pizza. Not to mention one at a restaurant is made while you wait, vs one that is served off a heating rack. Plus, if the food vendor is getting their ingredients via one method and Donatos corporate gets theirs from another, you run the chance of a difference in quality. It'll be interesting to see if anything happens at OSU, considering they currently have Donatos.
What's a slider cost at White Castle now? $.69? Could you get one for $1 in stadium? I like White Castle. About 3 times a year. I'd never pay $2 for one though. I am very curious to see the pricing. Will Papa John's offer a single serve small pizza like Donato's did or will it be by the slice? Money is money and more willing partners from the local community is good news in my book. Yes, Donatos is more local than Papa John's but the Columbus Papa John's franchisees group is who are coming in to the fold, so they are local in some context. No about that TV deal.....
$1 seems about fair, which probably means it'll be more...or else it'll be like a "3 for $5 tray" deal like they do with those mini-burgers....OR, what they did with those mini-burgers. Now that they have White Castle, do they really need the mini burgers? The logical guess for the pizza would be whatever they do at Nationwide.
I've only eaten White Castle once (it was about 3:00 AM and we had just left Kahoots - don't judge). Even under those circumstances, the food was inedible. It's total and complete garbage.
Just wondering did Donato's make the Deal with Crew Stadium when they were owned my McDonald's? Clippers have Dime a Dog night would love to see Quarter Slider Night?
Were you drunk? Because White Castle is only edible when ingested on top of a belly full of beer.Oh, and there's no chance of getting laid that night because you smell so horrible that no woman on Earth can stand to be in the same room with you. Not even a hooker. And you only buy them through a drive thru window. If you go inside the building, the stench grabs ahold of your clothes and cannot be washed out. Your only choice is to burn the clothes. You did pretty much have the right time of day though. 3 am is just about perfect. Now, people who go there for lunch, well, they're pretty much insane. And don't have jobs. WC at Crew Stadium is nuts. Just nuts. Who wants to sit next to a guy chomping down a bag full of those things? I'd rather they just spread sheep shit around the place.
I seem to recall many years ago before the Crew were the Crew the Dispatch suggested White Castle take a leadership position with the team. The proposed name? The Columbus Sliders.
I guess if White Castle is so repugnant to you all, you can just continue to eat stale pretzels, cold hot dogs and warmed over brats.
I, for some reason, cannot stand the buck-a-brats. The regular brats are fine. The buck-a-brats just have a weird consistency.
