BMC back Hushovd and Van Avermaet over Gilbert for Het Nieuwsblad (Het Volk) http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bmc-back-hushovd-and-van-avermaet-over-gilbert-for-het-nieuwsblad
Does this help? http://universalsports.com/2013/02/07/2013-road-cycling-schedule-on-universal-sports/ Not sure who has RvV and P-R? I will be streaming regardless
Start list for tomorrow http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/omloop-het-nieuwsblad-elite-2013/start-list Looking cold...and with predicted snow.
Looks like a few races cancelled today across the continent. Was only able to catch a bit of yesterday's race. The Sporza stream was really horrible.
Don't really understand why K-B-K was canceled. We drove home from the Ardennes yesterday (passing through Kortrijk which is a stone's throw from Kuurne), and apart from the cold, there were no real issues on the road that would have prevented that race to proceed. I can only assume it was much worse around Brussels, otherwise that decision made no sense whatsoever.
Just to keep things simple, I am putting other Spring races in here, and not just the classsics. Paris-Nice seems pretty star studded this year (Start list) http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/paris-nice-start-list-3 BMC putting all their cards on van Garderen http://www.bmcracingteam.com/index....]=1042&cHash=2cebfe99c8ce52b16ae4e2efe72a86eb
More Americans at Paris-Nice Talansky to lead Garmin http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/talansky-ready-to-lead-garmin-sharp-at-paris-nice
Talansky gets Garmin's first win of the season at Paris-Nice. He is now in the leader's jersey with only a 3 second cushion. https://twitter.com/EuroHoody/status/309322000386641921/photo/1
Watching the last climb at the moment for today's P-N stage. Good stuff. http://www.steephill.tv/paris-nice/#live
scarponi attacked but really not could get a good advantage. Talansky picks up the pace and stretches the lead bunch more. Brave!
Now Porte attacks and makes a gap. Unfortunately no one wants to/or can help the yellow jersey. I think Porte is going to get it.
Porte gets it and probably the race leadership. The others spending way too much time looking at each other. Menchov second Talansky Third Van Garderen Forth (no time bonuses for him) from CN ticker. Well, was Talansky too aggressive for his own good? Porte had the team support but he marked a number of attacks before unleashing an unbeatable move inside the final 3km. Maybe down to experience. Doesn't help that Garmin doesn't have good support for him as well.
