16 days to opening day, Frankie should be close the choosing his starting 11. Should be intresting how many minutes Chimbonda gets, Frankie needs to play him in the next three games to see if he will make the cut. So as of right now it's between Pause, Anibaba and Kinney at RB, if Chimbonda impresses that would make four players for Frankie to chose from. So two positions that are up for grabs, LM and RB. LM we have Alex, Duka and Atouba at RB we have Anibaba, Kinney, Pause and Chimbonda.
As somebody I asked on a Spurs forum I frequent (who is also a galaxy fan) pointed out, fullbacks is probably still one of the weakest position in MLS, so it wouldn't take too much for Chimbonda to be good. Unfortunately couldn't find anybody who has heard much about him since his time at Spurs, so they weren't too helpful. Other than that he apparently hasn't always had the best attitude (aka didn't care much), which held him back
That's the impression I got when watching him play. He has all the talent in the world, but looks more interested in getting paid than playing.
By the way, I expect our starting line up to be MacDonald-Rolfe Alex-Lindpere-Larentowicz-Nyarko Sega-Berry-Arne-Pause Johnson Atouba and Chimbonda might get run-outs in the second half. Anybody know how many subs are allowed in these games?
Official Johnson Pause-Berry-Arne-Sega Nyarko-Red-Lindpere-Duka Rolfe-MacDonald Subs: Tornaghi, Anibaba, Jumper, Kinney, Alex, Bone, Paladini, Thompson, Atouba, Videira, Santos
Fire's website has a terrible embed if you don't want fullscreen, use here instead http://uslnation.com/index_dynamic.aspx?fid=1001&eid=2/16 Houston @ Chicago
I guess the true indicator that MLS has :made it" will be when we don't have to watch preseason matches through crappy streams
Interesting that Chimbonda doesn't even get a bench spot here. Also that Atouba continues to be second line, despite being one of the brightest players so far
I don't mind the low production value, single camera internet streams, because these games would hardly be of interest to non-fans, they are hardly entertaining affairs and are more about fitness than playing an actual game. But they have got to be able to get a higher quality stream than this. its so blurry
From what could be seen on the goal, it looked like the Fire wall failed to do its job leaving Sean John stranded.
