Alright, we'll start this back up for all those who cannot be forgotten... And lets keep this on the topic of players and their soccer exploits please. Thanks!
I heard from my Applebee's waitress that Stern John is coming back to The Crew, but not as a player. He has started a construction company and will be putting a roof on CCS this season.
Dunno, but he's got a mousepad on Amazon.... http://www.amazon.com/Ansil-Elcock-Trinidad-Tobago-Soccer/dp/B005LW37CK
Not trying to derail discussions, but I tried posting this elsewhere and was unable to. I feel it is on-topic, considering. Admittedly, I have been one of Robbie Rogers' biggest detractors. He has so much talent, but for whatever reason, after 2008 his ability to showcase his skill and talents deteriorated. This coupled with the madman ravings of both Pastor and Missionary defending Rogers and Rogers making himself an easy target with his website (Therobbierogers.com) despite none of us having a problem with The Ohio State University. Maybe it's because as his production dropped a lot of us felt like he had too high of an opinion of himself. I don't know. Robbie Rogers frustrated me to no end. I was glad when I realized he would no longer be a member of the Columbus Crew. Having said that, I'm sad to see him leave the game. I have a much greater respect for him now both as a player and as a person, and a lot less respect for a portion of posters here and elsewhere. These moments are few. The moment when you realize you've been an antagonistic, semi-anonymous, spewer of ignorance. I'm speaking of myself here. I'm going to use this situation, and what is surely a rough time for Robbie Rogers, as an opportunity to evaluate myself, and how I interact as a sports fan with the team I love, its players, and other fans. I would urge others to do the same. Instead of disagreeing with Rogers' play, or lifestyle, take a look at yourself and celebrate Rogers who was one of the key ingredients in the Crew's success in 2008, and a member of the best damn team in MLS. He was, and is, one of us.
Brian West doing very well in Norway. Money, job/economic stability, no brainer. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013/02/01/what-ever-happened-brian-west
All I will say is. If people cannot come on here and talk about shit then why bother. It is getting ridiculous that people get so precious. Any who looks like rob smith is the guy on the left
BSP got it. I know it doesn't look like him but that's the 98 jersey - best in Crew history IMO - and so that's got to be Irribarren.
I have been away for a while but I need to make a comment. I have always liked Rogers (to a fault some might say). I like and respect him more now. The lad has big cajones to come out and fess up to a life style preference that to many of us is hard to understand. In any event I hope he keeps playing. I would like to see him back with the hardest working team.
Sorry. I meant the guy on the right. I assumed everybody knew the other two. I forgot about the utterly unmistakeable Rob Smith.
