As I said on the other thread, obviouslythe Fire didn't do its homework. I have known that guy to be gay for years along with every other Crew player I have seen. You got served Fire front office!
Regardless of why he is stepping away from the game, point is, had the Fire taken the small step of reaching out to Robbie he probably would have told them he had no plans to return to MLS and it would be in there best interest NOT to acquire his rights. Then again, maybe he wouldn't have, but the point is, they didn't do it, so they'll never know what he would have told them.
It's a personal decision to come out or retire from the game but it's fascinating that he's walking away with so much more time to continue to play. He could even make the WC roster if he had a great 2013. Best of luck to him.
seems like using hate speech to get a reaction is a kind of trolling expressly prohibited by the bs user agreement
Hey, another sanctimonious douchebag, funny how you jerks always appear when this kind of stuff happens
Spewing hate? I know it's the internet and grandstanding is par for the course but is that not a little over the top? Or are you the type that even sees the word "gay" in print and gets on the high horse along with the word "black".
Contributing to an aura of stigmatization is proliferating hate. There's a reason that people carry the burden of staying in the closet, or even worse. You may think you're just being funny (it wasn't really) but those jokes contribute to people feeling the need to hide and self-hate.
