Watching the Lyon match I hope Roma follow up their interest in Lovren. One of the problems apparently was his non-EU status and Croatia will become EU members in July.

Lyon are skint and they were hurt when they didn't sell Briand to Monaco when they pulled out. They need to reduce that wage bill. I don't think he'd cost that much.

I think that Costa is not interested in transfer to Roma. At the moment i think his salary is higher than it would be at roma, Shakhtar is European TOP 10 side,CL football asw.If he is not Roma fan than i think he lands in Chelsea-ManU or City in summer.

I think Costa is too expensive for us if we want Ogbonna and Nainggolan.Nainggolan price is at 7-10 million i think in real bussiness but :

If we get Nainggolan-Ogbonna-Jung without selling anyone than it would be great mercato for us.

But whatabout Casemiro and Paulinho , sabatini targeted them in last summer.

And Bellomo is already in our wishlist as AMF.

We aren't signing anyone from Cagliari. It won't happen with the tension between the two clubs.

It seemed like we had, but at the last minute I remember Bari changing their tune saying a deal would be done in the summer for him.

I found a new potential addition to our growing collection of Brazilian talent. After watching him play tonight in Copa Libertadores I am certain he would add a lot to our CB rotation. Not only is he a solid in the back but he is also constantly making run forwards and has deadly headers. At 26 he has already played for Barca and Bayern Leverkusen so for around 2.5 Mil he wouldn't be a bad choice.

What do you guys think? I know he is not mind blowing but I don't see our management wanting to spend major bucks next summer.

I wouldn't hesitate to pull Bertolacci back if that's what they want

What might that be? Because from all my research I can't find any negative stuff on the player and after seeing him play tonight believe me he is as good as Castan if not better. I don't think he is amazing like I said but we need a additional CB and I am tired of seeing us sing players with little experience. Getting talented youth is great but going over board with it is why we are 9th.

A simple check of his stats in the last 5 years tells me he has,
including the 7 offical appearances this season to date made a total of 157 appearances in that time (started all but 3 of those), so an average of 31.4 games per season, but apparently he has "got bad knees" and oh does he get homesick? ...apparently he suffers from that as well.

I know nothing about him other than a faint remembrance of his name of his time at Barca but someone makes an effort to post a decent post and gets trolled with two bland lifeless responses of drivel they just made up.....

but I guess the thread was well named :ninja:

We must go on Bruno Alves (The Great Wall of China) or Ogbonna if we want good defender.

But what you think about Dortmund duo Subotic-Hummels, maybe one of them ?

I dont understand why Sabatini didnt signed Kostas Manolas? (young, fast, good in headers, agressive asw) I think absolutely this what we need.

Kjaer back to Roma is possibility too. He did well in summer Euros and i think he has refound him in Wolfsburg.

I like Kjaer and he is only 23 , i think at 26-27 he is much better and experienced defender. And Kjaer has the Roma passion, he wants to play for Roma.He said that it´s honour for him to play for roma. Why not sign Kjaer if he become free agent or sign him for 4-5 millions.
He is not bad product for the future.

I don't see Kjaer back at Roma...

I don't know how he's doing this year, but as of his departure, I still felt he could become a solid cb somewhere.

What leads you to believe Roma would offer anything in that rage? Aside from attacking players Roma has never spend anything above or even close to 10 million on players in other positions.

If Roma makes a bid it will be within range of what another club bids and I promise you Cellino will take a lower offer. He venomously bashed our management, referring to our general director as an "opportunistic vulture." This is not a corporate environment, where money talks. This is a small club with little to no ambition other that preserving the power it grants to the owner. We've seen examples of this in our own club. Rosella Sensi could have sold Mexes but preferred to let him go to her "friend" Galliani for free.

I really struggle to think of a scenario where Roma would even approach Cagliari this summer. The battle over the cancelled game is heating up. Roma has said they won't back down over it. Cagliari won an initial appeal in Sardinia, which means the whole case could go to a national court. We are likely to be locked in a legal battle with Cagliari once the summer arrives.

If you like the player you can wish for it to happen, but I think there is an incredibly small percentage on this.

At 28 I would not call Kjaer young. He's a generic and incredibly average defender who plays for a 12th place them in Germany. This guy is going to elevate our defense? You must be kidding me. The guy begged openly for Roma to sign him, it didn't happen and it sure as hell won't happen this summer.

He is a little bit unlucky, but i cant say he is average on his age. Last 2 games against Sampdoria and Cagliari what Marcos-Castan-Burdisso has done better ? 7 goals against us, unrealistic and they were not top teams.

Marcos is being scouted by teams like Barcelona, if you don't see his quality you might need to rethink some things.

Castan and Burdisso are in my opinion fairly average. However I don't see how replacing them with another defender of the same quality improves anything.
