To further touch on Roma_NY post. Even if you get a lot of money, selling Marquinhos would be an incredible sign of weakness from the owners. With morale low, it would lower morale even more. It would be very inopportune in my opinion to sell him now, even if the offer is .

Hell, you sell DDR for 15-20. Can't believe we gave him an extension making him one of the top 3? highest paid players in Serie A and he repays us with this bullshit. We can save his poor attitude and 6 mil a year. Anybody who gets played while De Rossi is on the bench is screwed, both player and coach. It's not a healthy situation at any view. Truly, any transfer fee north of 10 mil for him is just gravy. Dump his salary and problematic attitude (and shit performances that accompany).

I think with Ibra and Snejder gone he is the highest paid player in Serie A, but I'm not 100% on that.

I think you're right. I don't think the Ibra/Silva deal had happened yet. Either way, whether THE highest or just top 5 and our highest, the principal is the same.

I truly believe that De Rossi, and Stek as well, have hindered the team this year by causing unrest and splitting the locker room. I think our team unity and spirit would be much stronger without them in the squad.

Beyond the benefits of dumping the attitudes and salaries, I think this would be a big positive step by management in re-cementing the hierarchy of just who is in charge at the club and what kinds of nonsense won't be tolerated.

Society decided he should stay, so he stayed. This one is on fans.

It was already no-brainer to sell almost 30 yo player for 42M. We could have bought new defensive line with that money.

It's too bad Alberto has no desire to manage the first team. He's probably the only guy that could probably bring back the old DDR.

But if we don't sell DDR, I'd imagine we would be able to get at least 20 million or so this summer from selling Osvaldo, Burdisso, Stek, and Marquinho. That's enough to at least bring in a quality CB and maybe another full back.

Am I the only one who thinks Mr. Rock & Roll would never agree to moving to Russia?

Can't blame him for that. I would never understand why anyone would want to move to Russia. Even if you get paid outrageous wages, you have to live in Russia.

No. And I wouldn't deal him for Alves regardless.

bruno Alves has always been a good player and i think he would do well in Serie A but realistically I don't think the deal is feasible.

I hope Sab will immediately start making a short-list of midfielders and a new CB once they figure out who the next coach will be (sooner rather than later)

I'm thinking the management are using the whole penalty fiasco as an excuse to sell Osvaldo. We already knew Zeman blocked Ozzy's transfer in the summer, I think the management were just bidding their time till he inevitably done something stupid to ship him out. The Destro deal makes more sense when the plan all along was to sell Ozzy.

Especially at a loss. How would it make sense to sell Lamela now, and for 20m. The core of young guys with talent we bought need to stay or like you said goodbye project.
