The first thing I noticed about the Matias Sanchez article on thecrew.com was that new training jacket (or half-zip or warmup jacket or whatever it is) he was wearing. Surely I'm not the only one?
I LOVE those jackets. Also, I was thinking of getting #15 and "Urso" on the back of a jersey. Does anyone know if the Crew Gear Store has done anything with regards to donating the proceeds of an Urso jersey customization to the Kirk Urso Memorial Fund? I know I could get the jersey customized somewhere else for a lesser price but I would do it with the Crew if the proceeds were going to a good cause.
https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/kirk-urso-1990-2012.1970713/page-12 Fid threw out a couple FO contact names, but I don't know if the idea actually went anywhere.
i've been stocking the website waiting. The selection at the moment is virtually nothing. Personally I'm hoping the black training kit is available for sale.
Well, if you're last year's jerseys, you don't go on sale until after the home opener. Right? Then again, that was a different situation with the Barbasol ads.
Those jackets (and the rest of the new stuff, I believe) was released on 2/1. There's actually a nice white CREW on the back of that jacket as well.
I have no clue what the Crew store stocks, I'm just saying when the merchandise was released from adidas for sale.
Haha.... Stalking If I was stocking the store it would actually have some good stuff! Looking on and off over the years I have to say the Crew always seem to have one of the worst offerings of gear for its fans. Most all other MLS teams have more and better choices!
I don't usually pick on grammar and spelling--except when it is unintentionally funny. Truth is that the Crew, like *all* MLS sides, have to go through the league's licensing dept to get stuff approved. I saw some really cool stuff back in the day that folks wanted to buy--but the manufacturer gave up finally trying to have the stuff approved (car magnets with the crest were one). They are supposedly not easy to work with. With adidas, they are making the stuff anyway (for the team) and tend to make the same stuff for all of their teams. So I'm not sure why there is a disconnect. It may be market driven--we are a smaller market so it is possible some stuff just won't sell enough to make it worth while to make in our market. But not in LA. That said, most Crew fans get pretty decked out in team gear, when available. I expect our sales of gear are pretty good..
Ass. I'm disappointed that you would resort to such a cheap, inconsequential smack on a fellow poster... before I had a chance to do it myself.
But seriously... those jackets look great. I have two Crew windbreakers -- they're both solid black (one's a pullover, one's a zip-up) and I've had them for at lest five years (probably longer). I wonder if it's maybe time to snatch one of these.
I really like the jacket. I am going to buy it when I see it. Unless they also release the Warzycha one of a kind from last year than it will be a tough call.
I've never been disappointed in any Crew team gear--excepting the game jersey one season (2010, I think) where the hem was iron-on. That was the one year the replica was higher quality. Usually, it's no contest.
Word is that "Jersey Week" is Feb 25-28... no idea what that means, but it's at least when the league was promising to update some items (such as the jerseys w/o "Barbasol" on them on the MLS Fantasy site). Not sure if it would have any relation at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if the store update coincided.
http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/02/11/in-m-l-s-new-season-new-shirts/?smid=tw-share I came across it this morning. Wish the Crew were involved this year, but at least it'll be every year starting next season.
We don't know what items will be available yet, or when said unknown items will be available, but I can tell you that Crew Union's relationship with HOMAGE is going to be elevated this year. There is some really cool stuff in the works and multiple items, but details are still being hashed out.
Haha, yes and no. That is all I can say right now because that is literally all we know. We had a meeting a couple weeks ago, and hopefully will have a better idea of what will come of it in the coming weeks. But for now, we are letting those much more creative than ourselves come up with some stuff.
Ick. While this is similar to what we've always had (a new jersey or two every couple years), the pessimist in me says that a club can guess what their jersey will look like, based off the designs of the other teams. And a new jersey every year is supposedly "for the fans?" Really?
If we're expected to participate every year, does that mean we can finally expect the return of the third jersey in 2015?
