Think it was set up to give other options a game. Rothwell started.

I missed the game Boadu started so can't comment on him much yet.

Still can't believe we have released Denzeil Boadu. Shocking decision. For a club that doesn't produce enough scholars as it is how can we afford to let a highly rated English player go. Watch out for the average, expensive foreign players that will be brought in.

Could it be because of "attitude problems" that Boadu was released? Presumably he shouldn't have much trouble signing for someone like West Ham.

Anyway, whatever he thinks will benefit him.

I know some youngsters in Dagenham and Redbridge and Southend U14 who are goood enough to get into Chelsea u14. I know this because I have seen all 3 teams play and the lower league academies are not getting the chances.

Good to see Mason Bennett become Derby's youngest ever scorer in the FA Cup yesterday.

Well surely you can say this about any players at any level? It's always about opportunities, and the simple fact of the game is that not everyone gets them. Now in this case they might be 'good enough' to play for Chelsea 14s now but that's not the sole criteria they need, is it? They've got to have the potential to play at higher levels, they've got to have so much more about them.

If they've got that, they'll be spotted, no doubt. Players have come from both of those clubs before (and academies of other standings) and moved onto bigger academies and bigger things. I dunno what the aim of your post was other than perhaps having a personal connection to one of them and having frustration at something.

I admire your faith in British scouting, but my experiences of it are somewhat more pessimistic. I've seen players capable of doing anything they want with a football ignored for being too short, too slow, too weak etc between the ages of 14 and 16. Bigger, faster, stronger kids get the nod as they stand out a mile in age group games but then get found out when the rest of the underdeveloped kids catch them up. We will have lost out on some superb talents over the last 15 years or so because of this ridiculous obsession with power and pace. We should be trying to produce footballers, not athletes.

Good to see Rossiter feature for LFC U19s in their NextGen 4-1 win over Inter. Lad is still only 15.

I watched the game , he played about 5 minutes , touched 3 balls , one ball lost one ball gained and a great ball through...too bad his team mate was offside ,anyway he brought energy and was very enthusiastic.

Yeah, it looks very much a first choice type squad. That Armstrong lad is back - bit surprised Rasulo (MK Dons) isn't back in - looked as if he might be a bit of a find, or at least a good option to fill the striker role. The Germans are always a tough test, so should be interesting to see how they go on. With it being the Germans you'd think Eurosport would put it on.

I couldn't see Arsenal vs Fulham (youth cup) but from what I've gathered Patrick Roberts was very impressive. Apparently the best player on the pitch (and also the youngest). Very exciting talent.

I am watching Liverpool at the Al kass cup and I have been impressed by Rossiter and Brewitt .
Rossiter played two games so far , the first wasn't very good but all Liverpool didn't play well despite winning 2 ~0 .In the second he showed what is able to do , good distribution and technical abilities , nice vision ,great tackles, always there when needed . Brewitt played only the second game againts a very strong tunisian club , let me tell you something rarely I have seen a so proper , tidy ,efficient ,intelligent defender at such a young age ...and all this despite him playing against boys 2 years older than him......His match was absolutely perfect , by far the man of the match on the liverpool side , he definetly impressed me a lot .

Chelsea's Kyle Scott with his first call up. Replacing Rashford of Man Utd. Nice to see him in a squad.

Good change that. I've heard good things about him and it's always good to look at other players that haven't had a chance to play yet.
