Continuiing this from the old thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/coaching-thread-zemanlandia.1945240/page-31 I see no way forward at this point but to dismiss Zedenek Zeman. Football is too much like life and often you don't get to see thing go the way you had hoped. Zeman has been unable to get his ideas working through this group of players. Furthermore he's mad certain choices, some of them mis-represented, that will define his second era. I say that because last night De Rossi would have played in my opion if not for just returning from injury. They say it's between Blanc and Giampaolo.
Don't want Blanc and I definitely don't want Gimpaolo taking over. Let ADR take over for the remainder of the season and then in the summer we can focus on a long term replacement.
I am sad, but I came to terms into it even before cagliari game. If the question is now, i say just put zago as coach..since he is the assistant and knows everything from inside now. for the summer , I personally always favor conservative coaches. So No Montella, but I LIKE to make a run at Allegri or Mazzarri. DDR make a poll ( Mazzarri, Allegri, Di Matteo, Montella,Donadoni, Spalletti, Guidolin, Pioli, Di Francesco, Panucci, Zago, Blanc, Pellegrini, Lucescu, Rijkaard, Klopp, Bielsa ,Villas Boas, Jupp heynckes, Benitez now in the head ) ... let it be multiple selections
After whats happening to zeman, and to baldini.. I think spalletti would heavily think of not ruining his legacy... if he comes back, just like the other two..he has everything to lose, and nthg to win
The issue that spelled the end of Zeman was not a football one but was much more of a political one, worthy of the old Roman empire itself — Zeman brought upon his end when results failed to come yet he refused to play Il Capitano Futuro (even though he is playing shit and most of the times he was out it's because he was injured) and played an unknown Tachtsidis in his place, then there was the Stekelenburg situation, very similar (though not as demagogic) - you have a World Cup final keeper rotting on the bench and you play an unknown, who although, OK has two massive errors, one which will remembered forever; I don't rate Stek as a god as many do but Goicoechea seems intent on making a demigod out of him. Now I don't say I agree with what I posted above, that is simply what I see when I read the Roman press, and above all, when I read the posts of tifosi on social networks, for months the mob has been asking for De Rossi, oblivious to the fact that this is not the same player of 3 years ago, or the recent Euros — To them this is still the Capitano Futuro. The Roman mob, crucified Zeman, and Zeman being Zeman chose to die a tragic death rather than give his arm to twist and sell his beliefs. A tragic ending, for a tragic hero.
I wouldn't be too opposed to Blanc, but I don't think he's the man who can get us where we want to be in any forseeable future. My opinion of Mazzari has drastically changed recently, but I really doubt there's any way we could get him.
Well said porreca. The other big problem is the gross overvaluation of our players. People expected third place with a team full of players that would never feature on a third place team.
A reunion is going on now to decide what to do. Everyone is present ... Baldini, Fenucci, Sabatini, Zanzibar, and Baldissoni. By 13:00 we should have some news.
Blanc has played in serie a in the past too, he isnt unfamiliar with the league. I am not sure if he has been following it this year... but if he will coach next year, maybe its better he starts from now.
I think he is racist against black tho, i think he had some issue.Maybe someone corrects that one to me
Bordeaux On 8 June 2007, Blanc was named the new manager of Bordeaux, replacing Brazilian Ricardo. For his first season on the bench, he led the club to a second place in the league and won theManager of the Year award. His second season was extremely successful, as Bordeaux won the final 11 games of the season, setting a new French record for consecutive wins,[12] and clinched the league title, three points clear of Marseille, having already won the Coupe de la Ligue that year. Blanc was again nominated for Manager of the Year but lost to Marseille manager Eric Gerets. [edit]France Blanc's first move as manager was to suspend all 23 players from the 2010 FIFA World Cup squad from his first game, as collective punishment for a number of negative incidents involving the squad, which had occurred during the course of the competition.[17] He also reversed the policy on providing only halal meat at team lunches.[18] On 11 August, in his first game as manager, France lost 2–1 to Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.[19] However, Blanc's team soon managed to top their Euro 2012 qualifying group while also achieving friendly wins over England, Brazil and Germany. The first game of Euro 2012 was against England and ended in a 1–1 draw, after Samir Nasri scored to cancel out a goal scored by Joleon Lescott. France then went on to win their second game against Ukraine, thereby advancing to the quarter-finals despite losing to Sweden. France was eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing 2–0 to Spain. Blanc stepped down as manager of the national team on 30 June 2012.[20]On 16 May 2010, Blanc confirmed his departure from Bordeaux after three seasons in charge of the French outfit. After resigning from his position, Blanc contacted the French Football Federation to inquire about the France national team job, which was eventually vacated by Raymond Domenech following the2010 World Cup. Later that day, FFF president Jean-Pierre Escalettes confirmed that Blanc was a candidate for the position. On 18 May 2010, with Blanc's appointment to the position becoming more probable, Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud demanded compensation from the Federation. On 20 May 2010, the club reached an agreement with the FFF for €1.5 million.[13][14] On 26 June, French media confirmed that Blanc had signed a two-year contract with the Federation to lead the team to UEFA Euro 2012. The deal was finalized a week later and Blanc was officially named as manager of the team on 2 July.[15][16]
My understanding is he loves Barcelona and attacking football. His France employed a 4-3-3 very often.
True, but as player who was a great defender from what I hear from people surely he will fix our defensive problems too.He could very well give us the perfect balance that we so desperately need.
I remember his Bordeaux playing 4-2-3-1 and they always were in the top 5 defenses in France while he was there. He was the man who ended Lyon's domination which lasted for 7 years. If we were to see 4-2-3-1, I'd play it like this: ---------------Stekelenburg---------------- Piris------Marcos----Castan----Balzaretti -----------DDR---------Florenzi----------- Lamela-----------Totti--------------Pjanic -----------------Osvaldo------------------- I would also start using Dodo as a substitute for Pjanic. This way everyone is happy(except for Burdi, but he's prolly leaving after this season so nvm) and you can pretty much give everyone enough playing time.
