this could be too good to be true, but fox soccer reports

UPDATES: QPR targets today include Spurs' trio David Bentley, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas.

Townsend is the only one of those 3 i wouldnt mind keeping

Townsend is worth holding on to but on a loan thats great for him. Jenas and Bentley I think are top quality lads and deserve more playing time, just not with us.

it'll be good to get them off the books. better they go somewhere they have a chance to play, than get paid for doing nothing at spurs

agreed, and hopefully that money is used on a top quality player.

still waiting for some more word about damiao... this window might be another last minute failure to sign a striker, just like every. other. one. before. you think Levy would've learned by now...

Here's a player to look at, if we really do want a CAM and Willan is off the market. Keisuke Honda....

Can't see that happening, if we get a midfielder (not necessarily CAM), it'll be Diame or Moutinho, with the former being more likely IMO.

That about sums up my expectations. We’ll probably do a last minute deal for someone like Carlton Cole or Emile Heskey.

I know life's a bit more complicated than Football Manager or Fifa, but if it were me, I'd be playing it a bit like a do in Fifa:

Keep about three to four irons in the fire down to the very last minute. Once you get the club to agree and the player to agree your set. If more than one player agrees terms, you aren't obligated to sign them, so you pass.

I know it seems a bit simple, but I honestly can't understand why Levy would only be pursuing Damiao at the 11th (or actually 5th?) hour. I know we made a push for the Lyon lad, but I don't understand why we can't get prospective moves set up for three-four strikers, have different negotiation teams hammer out the details, and then go with the best option available once all bets are on the table.

Not that I was holding my breath on this one but..

    Dale Johnson:

Sky Sports now say there will be NO deal to take Damiao to Spurs today.

because i doubt we have multiple negotiation teams. i've seen behind the scenes footage of transfer deadline days and it looks like 4-5 people sitting in an office calling people to get deals done. MAYBE they have scouts out doing some sorta leg work

this might hurt us really bad later on. Strikers are our achiles heel and we have been pretty lucky so far this season getting goals from our mid. but our match against norwich showed how bad we need a top striker that can make things happen on his own

UPDATES: Sky now reports that Leandro Damiao will NOT join Spurs. Contradictory reports about the Brazilian flying about.

My day started off great when I heard that Inter accepted our bid. Now I'm slowly climbing into depression....

This might not be a popular opinion, but I'm kind of glad that the Damiao deal fell through. 25m for a striker with zero European experience has backfire written all over it.

I realize that, but 25m is a lot of money to gamble on one player.

I agree we just need another body to who score and provide us coverage. IF it's someone who is legit sure or someone who can score or come on and add a spark when we need it.
