btw i never realized how far omnilife was, jeez its pretty much outside of the city further out than estadio 3 de marzo
not only that, traffic in Guadalajara is worse than anything here in the States...the public transport option is horrible to Omnilife...like I said in another thread...there is NOTHING in that area except a sad half empty mall and a chain tort as ahogadas place....can't remember the name....other than that the area is industrial...it's no surprise that attendance was low...after the game there is nothing to entertain yourself with....no neighborhood bars, no nightlife, nada.
You guys have forgotten that Vergara is an entrepreneur. Its not like he just randomly built that stadium in the middle of no where. This guy is thinking ahead. In the future you will see plenty of business surrounding the omni-life.
when i was last there in 2010 they were supposedly going to to expand on or make a new highway and make a new shopping center around that area
The city has certainly grown a lot in that direction, and given his (initial) interest in attracting higher income fans (luxury boxes, multiple season tickets with assigned seating), combined with reasonably priced land at the time, it seemed like a good spot to build. How he and many American developers delude themselves sometimes is thinking that a single sporting event every 2 weeks will somehow attract other entertainment businesses, restaurants, etc., to the area. You can sometimes do it with baseball or basketball/hockey, but a soccer or football stadium just isn't going to provide enough traffic throughout the year on its own. Having said that, it's much easier and faster for my family to get there now, so I'm good.
If they need any experts on working with those I have some contacts inside chimulco and Aguascalientes.
if people are too lazy to drive to the stadium or locals want to avoid traffic congestion, i think it'd be a great idea to provide shuttles leaving from downtown Guadalajara to the stadium unless they are doing that already
There is not that significant amount of traffic to that area on sundays.. That and Saturdays are a different story, if you guys say the traffic keeps people away..
Huicho needs to lower the ticket prices, the facker already paid the Slim loan to built his stadium ahead of time. I guess he needs to pay for the grass now.
I think he did buy a large part of the area around Omnilife. He was supposed to build the J.V.C. Complex...I think. Stadium, hotel, condo complex, club deportivo, his headquaters, museum, aditorium (even a palenque)...and a bunch of other shit.
Chingao, de una vez tambien un aeropuerto para cuando quieramos ir a ver un partido, llegamos derechito al estadio.
