About a month to go for the games release and today kicks off the live-action series "Forward Unto Dawn"
I played the first two levels last night. Graphically, it's gorgeous. 343 has put Bungie to shame. Gameplay, it's still the same. I'm still pretty much in the beginning and haven't met any forerunners yet so the story really hasn't picked up. Right now it's running and gunning. If you liked the previous Halo games, you'll love this one.
Up to chapter 3 and I completely agree the graphics are incredibly impressive. Granted I'm only three chapters in but the stories pace feels rushed. Maybe it is leading up to something that lays out everything but I am a bit concerned 343 is trying to cram too much into it. Hopefully my concerns are wrong. Multiplayer's changes are quite nice, all the guns have a nice balance and while most people are opting to use the Battle Rifle as their starting gun it doesn't mean you can't hold your own with the AR or other options. Only downside with multiplayer is that there is only 10 maps. I haven't touched Spartan Ops yet.
I'm on Chapter 3 now, heading to turn off the beacons and I don't feel rushed at all. If anything I'm frustrated because how effing hard the Prometheans are to kill. Then again I am playing it on Legendary. I have yet to dive into the MP, I downloaded Spartan Ops and all the other good stuff last night so I can jump in tonight. Maybe we can get a game going tonight.
Sounds good. Are you trying to do the campaign on your own? If not I'd be down with joining ya up to help out on that.
OK I'm playing it solo on Legendary and ******** is it hard. I'm only on the 4th level, but that's because it takes me multiple hours to finish each one because of the difficulty. Still, I'm loving it.
So I finished the game on Legendary, and did it solo. I really liked it... a lot. Now I've started the Spartan Ops episodes and finished the first one yesterday, also doing it solo on Legendary. I'm really liking what they're doing with this stuff. Any ideas on how many episodes of Spartan Ops there will be?
There will be 10 episodes for season 1 of Spartan ops. With so few mp maps I hope 343 keeps updating the playlist (SWAT RULES!) and will eventually start making some of the more popular Forge maps part of the public playlist.
so i was doing co-op last night on legendary. we were on the level where you're riding around on the mammoth. then we reach a dead end or something and are forced to keep throwing rocks at ghosts and wraiths that are seemingly endlessly respawned. what's the deal with that? for like 40 minutes, we each took turns running out and dying while the other stayed back for a respawning point so we didn't have to keep restarting that bit. we actually had to look it up online to make sure we hadn't "missed" some simple thing that we were supposed to have done so we could move on.
Hmm, tough to tell where you are but I think you might be at the portion where you advance on foot and eventually can get into some Scorpions. I know when me and my friend hit that we completely blew our chance at using the Scorpions and it was a pain fighting all the ghosts and wraiths being thrown at us, and we were only playing on Heroic.
Anyone else still playing this? Episode 6 of Spartan Ops came out on Monday and I just started playing it again. I'm doing it on Legendary so I only play one chapter a night, but damn it's hard... and fun.
Yeah off and on. These past few weeks they have been going through all the Spartan Ops chapters on legendary in the public search field so I was catching up on those, you get some serious xp that way. But other than that, not really. I tried out the free weekend with the Crimson map pack and found them to be worse than the original ten. With new SPops, some forge maps in the public playlist, and the return of Griffball next week (finally!) I plan to be playing a bit more.
Griffball was a gametype thought up in Halo3 that became popular enough to appear at least once every other month on the public playlist. The game is pretty straight forward, both teams start in an empty room, everyone has swords and hammers, and in the middle is a bomb; the goal is to try and plant the bomb it in the other teams goal. Has anyone tried out the new forge maps that were added to the public playlist this week yet? After the Crimson pack my big hope is in the community to come up with some fun maps.
Initially it was a line in a RvB episode where one of the characters is shooting at Grif and says it's better than Griffball. That got the Rooster Teeth guys thinking about what Griffball is, and how could it be an actual game type.
