so what we were all theorizing is true, El Tri will send a "B" team to Copa Oro that will most likely be coached by Luis Fernando Tena:

let the call up speculation begin...

Let's send the Sub 17 and Sub 20 to the Gold Cup, we'll win it

Alternative title: The Adventures of the B-Team.
u20's tournament ends just as the Gold Cup starts. Logistically, it's not a good idea.

Alfredo Tena is with Espanyol. Also, I'd rather have Vela at Confederations. And Torrado is not needed.

I'm all for the B team but it's total bullshit for us to send Luis Fernando Tena to coach it. We are going to get in trouble with CONCACAF and rightly so. It's an official competition and should be treated as such and it's not like there is any youth competition we have to play for or we are being forced like in Copa America.

Eh what? Chepo will be in Brazil and Tena is normally Chepo's assistant so I don't see how this is "total bullshit". Wouldn't it be better to have Tena who we know and is proven rather than someone completely new? Why would CONCACAF give a crap about who our coach is?

Eh, no he won't. The Confederations cup is in June, the Gold Cup is in July. It totally understandable and right that the players will not be there but this is the coach. This is Chepo's only job. And the gold cup is the continental championship. Sure CONCACAF will get mad for it that the NT coach isn't coaching in it's tournament. They constantly complain about teams not sending their best team (which is unjustifiable for them do so especially when they have it during the hex) to the competition. Hell they screwed Mexico out of Copa America because of that.

Hopefully they have the final at the Rose Bowl again. I can't wait til they get rid of the second gold cup though.

This will be great experience for the fringe players if anything.

We know that the other countries are going to go all out to win this tourney so it wont be a total walk in the park.

The reason Mexico f***** up in the 2011 Copa America is because:
    1. The players we sent were younger and inexperienced (but now aren't since a majority of them won the Olympic gold medal)
    2. Remember that 8 of those players (including Fabian, Cortes, Jonathan Dos Santos, etc.) were banned for their involvement with those prostitutes.
I bet you that this team will take down their opponents in the upcoming Gold Cup, and remember that we will adding other players (Herrera, Gullit Pena, etc.) to the team as well.

    true

but we could also see them in the Gold Cup as well. remember back in 2005 Lavolpe took several players from the Confed Cup squad to the Gold Cup as well. so it wouldn't be surprising to see local league players like Chaton, Fabian (depending if they don't get picked up by Euro clubs), Gullit, Corona, Oribe, Torres Nilo, Maza, etc. join up with the Gold Cup squad after taking part in the Confed Cup.

I doubt CONCACAF will care much to be honest. Warner and Blazer are gone, and they were the ones who bitched about Mexico's participation in Copa América in the first place.

It still is the confederations title and the coach has no excuse not to beat there. Besides aren't we proud of the 5-0 drubbing against the US? It's the same exact Gold cup this time than that one.

What are you talking about? The reason we had to sent a youth team was that CONCACAF ordered us and did so not for their BS excuse about the olympics but so that Mexico was forced to sent it's A team. They always complain when people don't do that and they wrong on that but they will be totally justifiable if we don't sent our NT coach. That's his job.

They may be gone but CONCACAF still complains and the organization hasn't changed much. And they will be right since it will be the coach and the FMF disrespecting the organization. Like I said, he isn't a player, that's the only thing he has to do. They would be right in this case.

We got enough talent to win it even with a B team.
