I'm amazed at how racist Chivas has become.

Labrocca is twice the player that Avila is - I'm also amazed that Chivas didn't ask for more than just Avila in the trade. I know that organization is perhaps more incompetent than ours, but that just astounds me.

Kudos to the Rapids for bringing Labrocca back - I just have no clue where he'll play on the field with our already-overstocked midfield.

Honestly, if Pablo is anything less than 100%, I can see him pushing for Pablo's starting spot. Based on what we know of midfielders in camp, if we use the 4-3-3 I think Rivero - LaBrocca - Thomas might be our best midfield if Pablo isn't 100%.

Which kinda (re-) begs the question regarding Pablo: how much will he really be playing this season?
I get the feeling much of the discussion regarding Rapids play this season will mostly be missing the names "Pablo" and "Buddle".

Likely, if past full health & past performance is the standard then Mastroeni will never again be 100%. If the Rapids deploy a 4-3-3 this season. If Thomas is 1st choice at DM. Where do you see Mastroeni playing as a 1st choice player this season? The hole is for a "box to box: midfielder to provide the link between Rivero & Thomas. I do not see Mastroeni providing that link. Perhaps Labrocca or Powers fills the hole. If Mastroeni is anything other than a back-up/coach-in-training we shall have real problems again this season.

Don't forget we still have to actually sign him though. When we do though, I immediately put him in as the 3rd MF. If Pablo was in his prime, then it wouldn't be that easy. I've always really liked the play of LaBrocca. Has the kind of motor you need for the box-to-box guy.

I imagine you're right, but at the same time, I do think that this organization defers to Pablo so much that I have a hard time seeing them putting Pablo in the back seat if he's able to play. That might be to the team's detriment or benefit, depending on if Thomas/Moor/any new signings develop their leadership qualities this offseason.

Well, that was exact position Pablo played (the #8) before injury and we won both.

Any player can play any position but not necessarily well. Before age, concussions, etc. Mastroeni was a solid DM, a destroyer. Neither you nor anyone else can attest to his creative or attacking skills.
