There must be a reason why every coach we've had in the last so many years plays Logan and gives him the captain's armband. Why do you think that is?

One could argue because our rosters haven't been all that good. Not a Pause hater by any means, he is fine at what he does and can't argue that he is a good guy to have in the clubhouse. I'd also have no problems if we upgraded the midfield. IMO, Larentowicz brings more to the table but I'll trust the coaching staff on this one. We'll see how camp plays out.

Konstanski , if he makes the squad likely will not be a MLS CB.Could see him move up as a Pause-esque destroyer DM.His work rate will make him stand out in training, and could be that nudge for him getting a roster spot.

Belshaw supposedly had a pretty good combine and was rated very high, but GK's just dont have that high wow factor in the drafts.Wouldnt doubt if he makes the cut and is the third man in the nets. That would leave the Fire with three very young keepers-two of which have high potential.

Gallagher is said to be a solid LB , likely wont be seeing any time if he makes the cut.But he may be a steal as some had him one of the better and higher rated LB's out of college.

Yes, the raw courage you display by constantly ripping on a professional athlete on an internet message board under the name "firefan2001" is quite impressive. :D

Saw on twitter somewhere earlier today that Tony Walls is supposedly no longer in training camp...Don't know if that means he was released, or what.

Also, Bone is apparently doing a week and a half training with Athletico Madrid. I'm really glad we are actually using that partnership

That's 3 players who had training stints with Atletico Madrid. Berry and Anibaba's stint actually stayed an additional week.

I'm not ripping on him, I just think we have better options than Pause. All I heard from most of you guys is if we had a better option than he should be replaced. Well we have a better option than Pause.....We have a player that could do both of the things that Pause can't defend and go forward when needed.

So admit it Larentowicz is a better option than Pause......

By the way I probably one of the biggest FIRE fans on these boards.....

I wasn't questioning your fandom. I was just making a joke. As to the substance, I'm open to the idea that JL is better than Pause, but I want to see him in our team first. Althogh I don't think it matters as he will slot in for Pardo. You keep assuming that Frank wants to play a 4-4-2. I don't think that is true.

He said it himself, before the season started last year, but he never played it.......He said once we get a veteran type player (Friedrich) to play CB that his ideal formation would be a 4-4-2, but that never happened....

Exactly. And de Los Cobos said he wanted to play an attractive, attaking style as well. Judge their deeds and not their words. We had three or four players who would be adequate playing DM in a 4-4-2 and we never even tried.

CJ Brown was captain after Armas, correct? And he was benched quite frequently his last year under delosCaca.

If Pause is relegated to the bench, he can still be that leader off the field and in training. And Freidrich served as captain last year when Pause wasn't on the field. Perhaps Klopas can appoint Arne co-captain.

Well, I don't think Carlos should be held out as a role model for Frank. If Frank wants to play 2 d-mods, then there is no discussion. If not, then he should pick a captain who will play most of the time. I have never heard any indication from Frank that he WANTS to replace Pause, so this is all speculation.

Sure there is. I'm reasonably sure Lindpere will slot in for Pardo, whether that's in a CAM role or a box-to-box role. That leaves a Larentowicz/Pause battle royale for the DM slot.

I'm done.........too Frankie says who and what kind of formation he plans on playing....

Maybe he has a player that's not on the team in mind and neither Pause or Larentowicz are going to be the starting DM.....

Like ABMOD, Logan uses alcohol and illegal drugs to lure the coaches into compromising positions with circus midgets (like I'm gonna call'em "little people") and farm animals, takes high definition video and still pictures, and uses that media as blackmail against them to keep his captaincy and contract.

??? If Lindpere plays a CAM role, which I think is likely, then how exactly is that "slotting in for Pardo?" Lindpere = Grazini and when we had Grazini, there was no "battle royale" between Pause and Pardo. They both played.

I just meant taking Pardo's spot in the lineup. Lindpere will most likely play alongside Pause in the 4-4-1-1 we used most of the 2nd half of last season. At least he will if we get that winger we need. If we don't get the winger, then all three of Pause, Larentowicz and Lindpere will play with Rolfe on the wing and Lindpere at CAM.
