Then that indicates blood line, and, thusly, marriages/spouses should not count.

No, it's the directness. You can't have a direct relationship with an in-law.

    It's 8pm tonight British time (GMT) - currently it's 20 past 2 so there's about 6 hours to go.
Seems like 3 of the entrants haven't confirmed yet so not sure what lanman plans to do - whether the deadline stays as is and they use one of their supplementary picks with their next choices. Maybe we should use the @ and list their names, but I have a partner that might not to be too pleased if one of them responds and chooses our player!

Anyway, I'll take an update for me and thebigman if there will be any delay if that's ok lanman (but maybe the new system means there won't?) - vasu you can ask for an update too if you like about whether your pick is currently succeeding. If the results are up within 6 hours there probably isn't any need though and it might be a few hours before lanman could respond anyway.

Oh right sorry, for some reason I thought it was 8 AM. Anyway, if there is no extension it is fine, but if there is I'd like an update too. :)

If we can't get all the first picks in on time, for the first round (usually when interest is highest), with a 5 day window...........then it doesn't bode well.

Maybe we should have a rule this time around. Over the course of the draft you get two supplementary picks if you miss a deadline, then you get two more lost picks if you miss deadlines, and then if you do it a 5th time you're out of the draft.

    Just a thought.

Yes, it's frustrating. I have no problem being flexible with deadlines if people let me know in advance, it's just not knowing that's the problem.

To clarify the supplemental pick rule, each drafter will have at most 3 supplemental picks available to them for missing a stage. The pick must be made by the next deadline (along with the standard pick, in order of preference). The pick will apply after all other normal picks for that stage, so cannot block a regular pick. Failure to do so will result in a loss of the supplemental pick so one less pick in the round, and one removed from the 3 available. After your 3 supplemental picks are used, missing a deadline will result in an automatic fail.

For this round, I will extend the deadling by 24 hours to Tuesday 22nd January 8pm (GMT)

    Cevno
    Triton
    Perú FC
    El-CapitanoR7

If you wish to take part with full picks then can you please make a pick by this time.

Anyone else wanting to join is also welcome.

There will be no further extentions to this deadline.

I think they should be more respectful to the effort you've gone through, lanman.

As I said when you first posted the criteria, I couldn't really think of many legends family connections. 20 mins on google on Sunday, I had 15 names (great players), and a shortlist of 6.

I have little problem with adjustments and flexibility (you have been great in the past). One request/thought for the future (round 2 or round 3): If there is a schedule that ends Feb 4 (the day after the Superbowl), for us who follow that game, it would be nice to have an extra day for recovery purposes.

I think he was getting at the communication. Of course, PeruFC might be in the jungle again...

I had two off the top of my head (should have had 4 based Sheep 3.0). But likewise, I also had a long list after about 20 minutes on google.

I love Peru, but he needs to be given a partner. He struggled to keep up last time in half the rounds.

Can we force pair these guys if necessary?

I know some of the new guys this year were looking for partners.

Seriously, the internet is a magical thing. I found quite a few with a little extra effort. This draft should take about 30-60 minutes of someone's week to finish.

In 3.5, Peru had a severe lack of internet (assuming) not time (well, probably that, too, not that he really needs that much ;)).

You thinking of a last minute entry? If you're not ready to pick by 8 I guess you could decide to take a supplemental pick instead (send two picks by the 2nd deadline).

Peru's been online I think so hopefully he's sent a pick.

As a few of us are in pairs, maybe Triton and El-Capitano would make a good pair (I actually think their combination of historical and current knowledge would be very good) but I guess if one of them's not picked by 8 then solo or together they'd be onto a supplemental pick anyway. Maybe either of them could join a different picker alternatively I suppose, but it could be they aren't interested now or too busy.

Anyway, we'll see at 8 o'clock ish how things are shaping up.

No problem - we'll see how the schedule pans out but I'll try to remember. Remind me if I don't.
