Lol!!! :ROFLMAO: I found other pics on the Mozzanica site, and it looks like indeed Emi was wearing yet another jersey number yesterday! You'll remember how mumf had made clear that last wednesday she was wearing #8, so the sequence was #13, #9, #3, #8.
Well, the photo below shows that yesterday Emi was wearing #6.
(if you wonder if it could be a bad-pixeled #8, I invite you to check out the other photo I am posting, where you can clearly see that #8 was worn by another player).
Before the end of the League, I want to see Emi wear all numers, #1 included! :giggle:

I think Arakawa is the least important of Urawa's lost veterans. She was more an occasional add-on than the team back-bone.
Wow! Well, for the sake of the Challenge League, I would hope the author would link you again.
Thanks, its a fantastic article. Rare to see true analysis of a game without the hyperbole.
OK. I agree that its common sense that we will see some, perhaps most of them again playing very soon. If they get better paying coaching jobs, good luck to them.

Is Momiki missing from the list? I cannot tell with my horrible translation

The losses to Beleza seem as drastic as Urawa's. Why at the same time Ita Kanako would move to Sayama .... is baffling.
The new #2 'Risa Shimizu' also sounded familiar, and so I googled HER. She is listed as a DF (and its a surprise she gets the #2 shirt?). In the u-17 WWC, was she the tall FW or the shorter speedy right-winger? Those two girls were look-alikes.
Really? Why so, do you think? And is Misa a minor sensation?
For sure Asano lands in Germany, from Yuki's blog it looks like she spent a few weeks there. Also remember we had Asano's own blog with that cryptic New Year's post about making the 'difficult decision'.... well it will be a bit easier for her with Yuki in support. And I bet she will be a hit, she has innate striker talent - her 19 L-league goals made a very impressive tally.

Apart from the fact that she was third scorer for Urawa, 5 goals behind Kira and just one behind Goto (I take the occasion to link an_turtar's blog about that :giggle:) and so her contribution in goals (and assists) wasn't negligible at all, mind that I was specifically talking about my own allegiance: you can discuss if Arakawa was or wasn't the more important veteran in Urawa, but she was for sure the more important one for me to root for Urawas! :p So, the fact that she was dropped, drives me even more easily towards Vegalta for this year's Nadeshiko League. Go Vegalta!!! :D

Well, it's quite obvious that Sayama is on a market-campaign to get back in Nadeshiko League right away. Maybe they are offering good conditions to the players.

By the way, how does it work in women's football in Japan, since it's mostly not professional? The clubs that want to sign a player from another club have to pay anything to the player's previous club? o_O (I hope the question is understandable :p).

Not so sure about that... I'm not really convinced by her yet. Sometimes the number of goals in L. League can be misleading as the gaps between the teams at the lower table and top two are so big. You can cash in goals against these team. I mean Takase is more technical and scored more goals than her. And Nagasato did score many goals in the league but she usually anonymous in big games against good teams. She herself admitted that she couldn't do anything in important games this season.

I guess, like Iwabuchi, her eyes are on 2015/2016 and she felt something needed to change.

Risa Shimizu was the right-winger #13 in NT. You'll surely remember her goal and her wonderful assist for Fujieda Junshin's Hina Sugita in the match vs Mexico at U-17 WWC.

I am not sure about who is the FW that you say is a look-alike... Maybe JFA Academy's Rika Masuya? o_O
Tokiwagi's Shiraki is also tall, but to me she doesn't seem similar at all to Shimizu.

Even professional contract, it usually runs yearly so no transfer fees are involved as they are not tied to any clubs after the contract runs out. As for non-professional players, what can clubs do if a player wants to leave? It's not like they bought the player or paying her wage.

Anyway, the situation in Urawa is still very strange to me... I can understand Yamago leaving though. I thought the treatment for Yamago was not very nice last season. She was clearly better than Ikeda and she was forced to sit on the bench while Ikeda kept making mistakes. With her age, she obviously wants to play as not long time left for her.

zaku_II, I have to assume that the Sweden match video is different from the one that was posted here some weeks ago? The version I have is the ESPN one.

    Thanks....sometimes I day-dream about Kawasumi's 40m lob....
Yes its Shiraki. Still surprised Beleza gave Shimizu the #2 shirt. Could she pair up with Doko? Iwashi is going to feel like an old woman in that DF.
I am a bit surprised at all these statements  A lot (most?) of Takase's goals were close-range tap-ins thanks to the INAC machine. I cant remember a single goal of hers where we adnired her individual efforts? But Asano, some of her stuff was on a different level, to my eyes. I can remember a few great one-twos, very acrobatic headers, a couple of great shots. As for big games, she was amazing in the Cup Final when they beat INAC (did she score two and best of all, made the third?). She was MVP that day.
I think you are confused about her 'confession' - she admitted that she couldn't do anything in the international games, specifically the Olympics qualifiers, when she was in the squad.

By the way, her sister just made an ANNOUNCEMENT of some kind?!

Lol, as much as I can understand, the first part of the video sounds like a list of her achievements... (Frauen-Bundesliga title, WCL, WWC, Olympic silver...)
Do I understand right that part, although I know nothing about Japanese? :p

For the rest I understand just basic things like konnichiwa, minna-san, watashiwa Ogimi Yuki desu, and few others... :giggle:

She mentioned last night that she had made a video for those celebrating coming-of-age in Shizuoka.

She's recently been making slightly bewildering statements. I don't know if she means anything by them or why they're in English. Maybe it's nothing.

Well, although at the time I wasn't following Nadeshiko Japan players yet, it seems to me that 1.FFC Turbine Potsdam won WCL in 2010, and Yuki should have started playing in Germany by 2009-2010 season... Am I right? o_O

By the way, KAPIJXM, nice BlessTheRebel's Kaihori avatar!

I'm sure all the hits from searches for the minor players like Misa and Hannah Stambaugh are from you guys, since the searches are in English. I imagine she's popular in Nagano but that's all really.

Shimizu Risa mainly played as a left side FB, and played on the right side at just one game as you say about the assist if my memory was not broken.
I'm not surprised with her promotion at all because she was one of my favorites in the U17 WWC.

Some article says that Nagasato is now conducting negotiation with Potsdam and Frankfurt and if it doesn't work well Beleza will accept her again.
