Why does Healy keep saying that Lalas was in the draft? He was not a drafted player, he was an allocated player back in 1996.

Do the Canadian teams have roster rules such that other things being equal, drafting a Canadian is preferable to a US-ian?

Looked like Bekker went back into the crowd to hug BC teammate Charlie Rugg.

    yes

The three MLS clubs based in Canada – Montreal Impact, Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC – began with eight international slots, but their domestic slots may be filled with either Canadian or U.S. domestic players.
    • MLS clubs based in Canada are required to have a minimum of three Canadian domestic players on their rosters.
    • Players with the legal right to work in Canada are considered Canadian domestic players (i.e., Canadian citizen, permanent resident, part of a protected class).

Key being Canadian players for US based MLS teams are not counted as domestic players.

Wow the Youtube feed is so much better than my ESPN3 even if it is a bit behind time wise.

It's easy to poke fun at the announcers, but I think they've done a great job so far. Lots of dead air for them to fill.

all they can get in order to throw on a track meet. opposition defenders are going to be tired against Hurtado, Manneh and Mattocks. I feel sorry for them lol
